Welcome to Riverside Memories in Mt Airy, NC. This riverfront oasis is our family’s newest addition to the NCEscapes suite of vacation rentals. This true log cabin situated on 3 wooded private acres was meticulously and tastefully remodeled in 2023 providing our guests with an elevated nature escape with dreamy views, direct private access to the Ararat River and located only 2.5 miles from all the shops and restaurants downtown Mt Airy has to offer.

Our professionally designed private Disc Golf Course is going to be a hit with all the disc golfers in your group. If you are more experienced than a novice, please message us for more information.

We have a full Spectrum cable package including all of the sports channels and Spectrum GIG Internet with a mesh network for strong Wifi everywhere in the home. Cell signal is spotty so we recommended turning on Wifi calling on your phone settings. Verizon is stronger on the property than AT&T.

The UNheated in-ground swimming pool is open from May 1-September 30 every year. Keep in mind, pool water temperatures are directly related to the weather and subject to change daily.

We began hosting guests at Riverside Memories in June of 2023 and are thrilled it’s been so well received!

***Riverfront access*** The property is wooded, rustic and natural. It is a fairly steep descent to access the river traversing a cleared but natural clearing. Those with mobility issues will have a difficult time. Fit individuals will find this reasonably easy to navigate. Please note there are no steps, handrails, pavers, or other manmade aids to access the riverfront area from the main home.

We highly recommend grippy water shoes if you plan on fishing or playing in the river as the riverbed and rocks can be really slippery.

You can fish in the river and the river is stocked with trout about 10 miles upriver, just across the VA/NC border. You can swim and play at your own risk. We find the water very clear and refreshing. Of course, the river will look muddy or murky after a storm when the riverbed gets stirred up. You can bring rafts, kayaks, and other flotation devices and float downstream and get picked up at any number of locations down-river. Please plan ahead for the best experience.

***Wildlife*** This property is home to several families of deer and you will often see them walking through. As it is a heavily wooded area you will see any number of outdoor critters and insects. Our guests love experiencing nature while having all modern conveniences inside and being so close to town.

*LIVING SPACES*

We have three common spaces for you and your group to enjoy and of course we have central AC and heat for your comfort.

Main floor living room boasts a gas fireplace, 65” Samsung Smart TV, two full sized leather sofas and a cozy recliner.

Second floor open loft space doubles as a quiet reading nook loading with books for ages 1-100 and as a play space for the littles in your group. We have a road rug, toys, a play kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, a play tee pee and two nuggets. What’s a nugget? Glad you asked! The Nugget is part furniture and part toy. This play couch is made of four foam pieces. It’s soft, squishy and sturdy and kids of all ages love it because it can be reconfigured in countless ways into the best couch forts. Please note that the second floor loft is open to the main floor and does not have it’s own HVAC vents – it does get warm on hot days but is very comfortable at all other times. We have a tower fan to keep you more comfortable.

The basement game room is a dream on rainy days! Two full size leather sofas allow you to enjoy the 70” Samsung Smart TV in comfort. We also have board games, an old school Ms Pac Man stand up arcade loaded with lots of other games, a foosball table and an old school Wii with countless games.

*Kitchen and Dining*

Riverside Memories boasts a handmade 8’ black walnut river table with 10 matching dining chairs. Your entire group can sit around one table. Our newly remodeled kitchen boasts brand new stainless steel appliances, a gas stove with built in griddle, granite countertops and a small island with 4 stools in addition to our famous Pay-It-Forward Kitchen pantry.

All 3 bedrooms have Samsung Smart TVs in addition to the two large ones in the living rooms.

Two full bathroom are located on the main level and one full bathroom is located in the basement. The basement bathroom is most convenient to use when outside at the pool or river.

Bedroom 2 & 3 share a full hall bathroom located on the main floor just off the kitchen in between the 2 bedrooms.

Two luxury folding twin beds are located in the closet across from the full bathroom in the basement for additional sleeping options. We find our guests much prefer this option to a sleeper sofa.

Guest Cottage is a "tiny home" and is our 4th bedroom and bathroom and include a King bed and a Queen Sleeper Sofa.

No smoking or vaping.

Please note that this is NOT a party house and we ask that guests be respectful of our neighbors and observe the community quiet hours of 10pm - 8am. Thanks for understanding!

Riverside Memories is located in Mt Airy, NC on the Ararat River just 2.5 miles from downtown and Main Street. Most guests have a personal vehicle. The closest major airport is Charlotte.
