Our stay was very upsetting. Upon arrival, the first shuttle didn't take us as we had 6 people, and instead took others who arrived after us, promising another shuttle in 8 minutes. The next shuttle was the same driver 20 minutes later…
Check-in was smooth and the staff helped with dinner plans. During dinner, the hotel checked another group into my parents room, despite already checking us in. That group complained and when we returned, "security" called and confronted my elderly parents, accusing them of fraud. They then came to our room since we made the reservation. One "security guard" dressed in sweats, which felt off and very uncomfortable. Especially distressing being with our young child. They escorted us to front desk where we found out my fathers first name was used as last name and we were checked in wrong. The keys were deactivated and were told new ones couldn’t be issued right away, leaving us anxious all night.
The next morning, the morning staff had no idea of our ordeal, and the keys were not ready. Meanwhile the phone in our room rang but only silence. Moments later, there was a knock on the door and it opened. It was the manager letting himself in, claiming we called for service which we hadn't. At this point we felt violated and unsafe.
We were eventually given free Marriott points, but compensation doesn’t fix the confusion and lack of professionalism we experienced. We would not recommend this hotel, in hopes others would not have to deal with this.
