Perfect country cottage
Beautiful, spacious bright loft! The perfect stay for our few days exploring the countryside. Functional kitchen with all the items needed to cook at home. Perfect blackout blinds to help combat jetlag. Seamless check-in and checkout of the cottage! Thanks so much!

Farm stay :)
This was a wonderful and quiet spot! We watched the kittens playing in the hayloft across from us and qoke to the sound of a rooster. The location was great for what we were wanting and the house itself was perfect for our family of 4. The host was very warm and welcoming too!

Clean, charming and wonderful hospitality
We spent 5 nights in this lovely accommodation. It was very clean, kitchen very well equipped and the whole flat beautifully decorated. There are no shops in the village but you get everything you need in about 10 minutes drive. As a working farm, you can buy fresh dairy products on the site. We’ve got the best ever butter here, the eggs are so BIG and delicious and the milk was still warm when we got it. We wanted to buy the local pastry “tarte libouli” – and we got a big one offered by Francine! We had a chance to visit the farm and to peek into the farm life, it was such a nice and funny experience, which we would definitively recommend to everybody staying in this accommodation. Merci Francine, Jean-Claude and the lovely family (including the dog!)

Beautiful accommodation, perfect hosts and superb location.
We enjoyed a glorious week at this accommodation with our young daughter. Francine and Jean-Claude were most friendly and welcoming hosts. The accommodation was immaculately clean and very well presented. The facilities were exactly described and the apartment has everything you would need. Two shops are available in a neighbouring village (10 mins away) plus bigger stores in Albert or Arras. Francine showed us how she makes butter, we met the horses and got to visit the farm to see the milking of the cows - our daughter loved it. Our only regret was that our French was rubbish - as I dearly wish I could have chatted more to Francine because she was so welcoming. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone - especially if you are interested in the First World War sites as it is ideally placed for the sites on the Somme and only a 2 hour drive from the Ypres Salient.

A one week stay at a French Farmhouse.
Our Gite was in excellent condition with all the necessary amenities available to us. The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit which was to see the WW1 battlefields. Although it was a working farm it was extremely peaceful. The hosts were available if we required any help. The on-site dairy shop came in handy as the nearest supermarket was about 10 mins away. Thanks once again to Francin and Jean Luc. Mr & Mrs G Morelli

Outstanding
The property is situated in a small quaint village in the middle of nowhere but was in the best position to travel/explore around Northern France. The flat that these people provided was exceptional, it was spotlessly clean and it had every kitchen utensil that you needed. The flat is very spacious but beware of the low ceilings! Bed linen and towels were provided which was great. It is an active dairy farm and we were treated to a guided tour around the farm by Jean-Claude and was also treated to the delightful products that Francine made using their produce. I would highly recommend this property and it was very reasonable as well! Thank you for your generous hospitality and kindness.

Very pleasant.
We had a very nice 2-night stay at the farm and appreciate the beautiful pat of farm butter and fromage frais that Francine's daughter gave us on arrival. Unfortunately the farm shop wasn't open while we were there so we weren't able to stock up with any other goodies and we hadn't realised that the actual farm animals were elsewhere in the village so not accessible for our children to see, but as we only had a short stay there, it was not a problem. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very clean.

Wonderful find
Clean comfortable cottage with lots of little extras, including a custard tart on arrival. Just mind don't bump your head on ceiling in places. Hosts were lovely but we had very little French and they had a little English so we got by.

Cozy Farmstead in Northern France
We had a wonderful stay at M. & Mme Lefranc’s farm. It was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The apartment was fully outfitted. We really enjoyed eating meals on the terrace in the evenings. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Would recommend for any travellers in the area visiting major WWI sites. Merci!!

Lovely place to stay and tour northern France
Had a lovely stay and was most welcomed by Francine and Jean-Claude. Great base if you want to tour Arras and Northern France including WWI battle fields and cemetery’s. A Very clean and tidy place to stay. Very rural if you like the country side. The farm which we stayed makes really nice milk products which includes Yogurt, butter, custard tart and other lovely goodies. We didn’t speak much French so this was a bit of a huddle but we got by. If you like peace and quiet and the rural life and touring then this is the place to stay. Our thanks to Francine and Jean-Claude for a lovely time.

Lovely Place To Stay
We are a family of 4 and stayed here in order to explore the WW1 battlefields of the Somme area (and a day trip to Ypres for the same reason). The cottage is well kept and perfect as a base to explore the local area. Francine and Jean-Claude were lovely hosts and the welcoming custard tart was delicious. The cottage was lovely and clean. You have to climb the metal steps you see on the picture and, as it is a loft conversion, there are lots of low ceilings. As well as trying to avoid bumping your head, the sloping ceilings can make the kitchen units difficult to use (the cooker / oven and sink are not affected by this). There is a private courtyard which is lovely but not used by us given we were there in the Autumn. It is situated approx 30 minutes from Albert, about 50 minutes from Peronne and 90 minutes from Ypres. The main Somme battlefields of Beaumont-Hamel, Lochnagar, Thiepval and Longueval are all within 25 minutes of the cottage. It is a working farm and Francine runs a local farm produce shop; if you get chance, we would recommend trying some of the produce here as it is very good. The closest supermarkets are in Arras (25 minutes) and Albert and there is a boulangerie in the village of Bienvillers-au-Bois just 5 minutes drive away. Most of the surrounding villages have some shops but we rarely saw them open as we passed through. We would recommend this as a good base to tour the local area.

Lovely -well equipped in pretty village. Spacious rooms - somehad to watch the sloped ceilings!
We were made to feel very welcome with an 'apero' and Francine and Jean-Claude were very friendly and accommodating. We had a problem with the car on our second day and they both helped us with phone calls to garages and Jean-Claude drove us to Arras to collect the car when it had been repaired. They could not have been more generous and considerate. Next time, we will definitely stay longer! A great location for visiting Vimy Ridge Memorial and other sites in the area.

The family went out of their way to make us feel very welcome . We had an enjoyable two weeks.
The Gite was lovely and clean and ample space for four adults. There was everything we needed for our holiday. We enjoyed the farm produce, butter, eggs and custard tart. My son and husband got involved making butter and milking the cows. We would just like to say to the family thank you for making us feel very welcome . The Pearson's

A wonderful place to stay
Myself, my daughter and my son stayed at this place. We slept there for 4 nights and it was one of the best part of our two week trip to France. Francine and Jean Claude and family are wonderful hosts and very kind. The beds are comfortable and it was incredibly clean and neat and you get to experience country living. It is well suited for young families. I will recommend this to all my friends who will visit Northern France

A Treasured Highlight Of Our Visit To France
We were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay at this charming place. The apartment was clean, bright, and functional and the setting in the midst of a family farm was superb. Caveat: the sloped ceilings could be a challenge for taller people. The location suited us perfectly as we wanted a base from which to pay our respects to 3 great uncles who died in the WW1 battles of the Somme, Arras & Amiens and to a grandfather who did make it back to Canada. We were able to visit our intended destinations quickly from this central base. It was an easy day trip to Dieppe as well. Groceries, gas, pharmacie, and post office were all just a few minutes away in Bucquoy and Arras is not far away for all other needs. Francine sells various delicious farm products on-site too. The scenery in the region is simply beautiful and we were able to take several long walks on quiet farm roads amongst the fields and woods behind the barn. We especially enjoyed a walk to the Le Quesnoy Military Cemetery which is midway between Monchy au Bois and Bucquoy - about as far as one can get from a paved road in this vicinity. The most endearing aspect of the visit was Francine, Jean-Claude, their family and how hard and long they work to maintain their enterprise. We've gained a new appreciation of the versatility and skills required to keep all this going. We had a lot of fun participating in some of the farm activities and, in the process, were able, in spite of language differences, to have some very satisfying exchanges. This place and these people stand out as a treasured highlight of our visit to France.
