Upstairs the 4 bedrooms each have 2 windows, high ceilings with chestnut beams and are furnished with antiques.
Two rooms have double beds and the other two twin rooms can make giant doubles.
There are two bathrooms with showers, WC and basin; one with a bidet.
A cot, high chair and a stair gate are available.
All linen, towels and pool towels are provided.
Downstairs there is a twin/double room with view over the terrace to the east.
The bathroom with shower, WC and basin also houses the washing machine.
There is a comfortable sitting room with log burner, DVD and Ipod dock, masses of books, cards and games. The large dining kitchen has a 5 hob gas stove and oven, dishwasher, 2 fridge/freezers and plenty glasses and crockery. Plastic glasses for the pool are supplied.
The covered kitchen terrace has a table to seat 12, a huge BBQ and the old bread oven.
To the front of the house is a wisteria covered terrace with rustic table seating up to 16 and plenty of herbs to pick.
Col di Lavacchio offers beautiful comfort in its lovingly restored traditional Garfagnana farmhouse which includes 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Overlooking the mountains and secluded in a rocky alcove fringed with lavender is the stunning 12m pool with wooden loungers.
Relax in a hammock with a good book from the extensive library, have a game of table tennis or lawn boules, wander through the many terraces and chestnut groves or contemplate a little peace on the hill top yoga deck. Should your passion be cooking, the kitchen is well equipped and there is seasonal organic vegetables available on site.
The house is well appointed with a comfortable sitting room, wisteria-covered dining terraces, a huge BBQ and a beautiful ancient pizza oven. There are 4 elegant bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the 1st floor with an additional bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor..
Local shops and restaurants are minutes away but should you wish to be delighted there is a resident chef who can prepare a candlelit dinner on the terrace especially for you. Alternatively, she can offer a riot of colour and flavour in a family pizza night.
The owners, Ailsa and Jamie Reynolds live up the hill and are happy to offer advice - where to shop, what to see, book restaurants and galleries and generally help you have a memorable holiday whilst respecting your privacy. A shopping service is available if you want to arrive at the house to find your fridge packed with local goodies.
