it was great, but there were spots on the walls and dust an accumulated dust in places. Especially the bathroom. Staff was really helpful and nice. Its a good place to stay.

This property is an old Christian-run conservatory, and much of the Renaissance-era artwork is now used throughout the hotel. Even my room had photographs of nuns bowling, and on playground swings. I especially like the room's hardwood floors. Plus, the bar and lounge area is beautiful.

Despite not rating excellent, I would stay anytime again. Lots of street noise typical of an old building (homeless people shouting below, police lecturing said people over their car speaker, sirens, commuter train noise). Understand you are staying downtown and will be part of downtown - which Im fine with. So many cool things, and munor annoyances like having to shove on the door or pull it shut because it sticks are due the the character - all things I live well with. Temp is controlled by hotel so if its in your comfort range great - but if you like being able to adust room temp in a day, you wont have that in the Summer. GREAT bar - with its proximity to Fitzgerald and other venues, you'l have to be patient in pre-show periods. Those looking for a pampered experience may not like - those who are flexible eill love it!

We chose this hotel in part based on a past experience that was fantastic. This time the room was a little musty and the breakfast was terrible. It was supposed to be open until 10 AM, but they ran out of eggs before 9 and never replenished them. Disappointing.

This rather unique hotel was an excellent choice for our visit to St Paul. The location was ideal for exploring the downtown area and light railway was right outside the door. The most important and memorable thing about our stay was the excellent staff. We will stay again.

We found a large spider web above our bed. We reported it to the front desk and they were kind and offered us another room or the option of a refund. In which we appreciated. Also, the other room was an improvement even though I was still weary about the stay.

We liked that this is a vintage building that seeks to preserve a vintage atmosphere - but our rooms had no chairs, no heating and no phone. We felt uncomfortable in our rooms and left early in the morning.

A historic landmark filled with beautifully perserved items. The architecture of the building was beautiful. Staff was very helpful and breakfast had many food options and served in what used to be a chapel with beautiful stained window.

Can’t believe this was rated as a top hotel. Totally overrated. Needs maintenance-ceilings are in need of repair. Rooms are ok, but not luxurious as would be expected with high rating. Basically, it’s historical and quaint. Period.

What a delight it was to stay at the Celeste St Paul historic hotel. Friendly staff with helpful information regarding restaurants and local attractions. Walking distance to the capital building as well as a beautiful view of the same from our room. Easy parking directly behind the hotel. (For a fee) Rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable. Good breakfast options and a nice bar to relax in at the end of the day. Wish we could have stayed longer!
