A beautiful inn in the heart of Kurokawa Onsen, just steps away from the shops and the Information Center. The grounds are beautifully appointed, and the selection of private chartered baths is wonderful. The public baths are spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, so if you are looking for something more casual this may not be the place for you; but if you want a luxury experience this is it.

This is the best onsen hotel I have ever tried. If I can give them 6 stars, they deserve it. Not only service is good, food, decoration and amenities, as well as onsen are far more beyond my expectation. I would love to come back again. If only they sell their body soap, it will be even better because it’s quality is high and smell good.

We stayed one night in a room with an indoor bath - lovely experience. The coursed summer dinner menu was filled with various seafood dishes and beef with a cauliflower puree with burnt creme for dessert. The breakfast was in typical Japanese style - fresh fish, rice, miso, egg, pickles and so much more. Both the indoor and outdoor shared baths were lovely especially the outdoor bath. We didn't try any of the family baths since we had one in our room. The rooms are older but that didn't take away from the experience and the grounds were beautiful. Service was attentive and friendly. Would stay here again.

Very good experience & they even provide me valet service to park my car. They greet me with welcome drink and snacks & explain clearly on the facilities upon arrival. Good onsen experience with indoor & outdoor views. It is sad that the time i am visiting is on early July which is rainy season and i cant take full staying & onsen experience there. The breakfast prepared is also very unique & tasty.

Amazing stay!!
Absolutely amazing!! The place was in a cozy/pretty area. We took a stroll at night and enjoyed the nice little village. It had multiple outside and inside onsens on the premise in addition to the private onsen in our room. Other amebtities including bar and cafe were also very nice. Most importantly the food totally blew us away.. I will definitely be back here next time I am in the fukuoka area!

KYUSHU visit with friends
Our first trip to Kurogawa to enjoy Onsen. We decided on a rustic and traditional property. Oyado Noshiyu fits perfectly. Staff very courteous and helpful. Service standard excellent. Dinner was great with a keiseki spread. Breakfast was simple but very adequate. There was a Onsen in our room which provides privacy. But the open Onsen is also great. There is a waiting room for sit and chat with free coffee self service. Property is on hill slope away from main area but very walkable and convenient. Strongly recommended.

they ask to declare food allergies but then told us that its impossible to make their food without MSG which we have an allergy too. It resulted in a 1 hour conversation which was a waste of time. Cutomer service was terrible. WILL NOT RETURN

This onsen resort could charge twice the amount and still be worth every Yen. The garden grounds are out of a movie. Our bi-level suite with in-suite onsen is a dream. You won’t find a better outdoor onsen anywhere in Japan. The food quality was fantastic. Amount of food literally too much at dinner, if management reads this. Service top notch. Like to give a shout out to Yuki, our dinner server. I did not want to leave!!!!!

Exceptional, exceptional, exceptional
Truly exceptional ryokan. I stayed for 3 nights and wished I could extend my stay. Tranquility, the food, the onsen, the room, the staff - could not ask for anything better. Ryokan is old but maintained meticulously, room is literally speckless. Facilities include a coffee shop and a lounge, both which are consistent with the traditional Japanese ambience of the ryokan - great places to spend some "me time" or chat away with your loved ones. Staff is exceptionally professional, thoughtful, and sincere - e.g., one of our family members fell sick during the stay, and staff prepared a special meal for the patient, and helped us locate a local doctor. Location was amazing, right at the top of kurokawa onsen town - great to go on short walks to explore. Dinner kaiseki and breakfast were also exceptional; top-notch with local fresh ingredients. Lastly the onsen - the relatively small size of the ryokan ensures a tranquil experience at the onsen; I had the rotenburo all to myself 5 out of 6 times I used the onsen.

A Romantic Stay
The staff is very friendly. Room is comfortable. We experienced traditional Japanese onsen, dinner and breakfast. Great Experience! A good onsen valley to explore, a relaxing environment. It is good to forget all busy staff and slow down life pace in this loving Japanese valley. Will visit again next time.

Onsen = hot spring
The most nostalgic experience of my life. If you come to Japan you must come to a onsen. The room were spacious, very comfortable, some rooms don't have a place to bath, but they all have a toilet, fridge, hair drier and lots of other things. This hotel had 5 different types of onsen.
