It is a convenient location. Half a block from the Zocalo.
It is inconvenient to arrive since it is Madero Ave. No cars allowed on Madero street. It is noisy during the day.
The room rate is very inexpensive, so you do get what you pay for. Would not recommend the restaurant - only mediocre. Plenty of other excellent dining options nearby.

Very limited soaps and towels. They refused to provide more. Staff is very unfriendly and not helpful. Refused to provide manager information and did not resolve the problem.

Mixed review
The property itself was built in 1937. It is in a great location. They have retained it's historical charm, especially in the lobby and mezzanine level. The rooms are a good size, but could use a little updating. There was a small hole in the carpet in our room and the laminate floor was loose in my dad's room. Even though there was a fan in the rooms, it needed a/c. The restaurant for breakfast was good. The dinner was horrible. They brought my food cold and it ended up being inedible. The meat was cheap quality. The wait staff needs to be better trained.
We had a great experience overall within our state. Our hotel is pretty quiet during the night and the staff and service were very friendly and very helpful. My recommendation would be that the hotel provide a microwave and a refrigerator for the room. The location is very centrally located therefore we were able to go to dinner nearby and shopping as well.

The hotel is very outdated and in much need of repairs . The beds are super hard. If your trying to get a good night sleep the location is not for you. Very noisy. There is NO Air-conditioner rooms get super stuffy and hot if you open the windows there is a breeze but then you get all the mosquitoes. I had a very hard time getting any sleep I tried to get check out but they said I was already charged for the 8 days and wouldn’t get my money back. Which I thought that was not right. The very rude lady said you can leave but I already charge you for your whole say. They really need to invest money in renovations. Its not only old

Not all rooms have climate or fans, cathedral bell sounds loud
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Historic Mexico City! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Only drawback was the lack of AC, which they fixed with a fan, and no water the first day! View from their rooftop terrace is gorgeous!
Hotel has no ac. It is very hot day and night feels like sleeping in a sauna. Opening the window didn't help because the patio lights are very bright. There were cockroaches in the bathroom. It was also very noisy very early in the morning and late at night. I really wished for a good night sleep. Felt very tired
No air conditioning and no screens on windows so lots of mosquitoes. Rooms were very hot and beds were so uncomfortable and we paid extra the better rooms. It looks beautiful but it was not comfortable and the heat made it very hard to sleep.
We were lucky enough to get a view facing the plaza. Remember that there is no AC but ask at the front counter for a fan and they’ll provide one. We used the laundry service and were happy to have our clothes back the same evening.
The only drawbacks were the non existent water pressure and the lumpy beds. It might not be a five star place, but honestly the view was worth it. The staff was so nice and always happy to help. We booked a day tour to the pyramids and Basilica with them as well. We had breakfast at the rooftop and it was nice too, with a great view & good food. Gracias por todo!
