About this property

Family Friendly Farmhouse

Take a moment to disconnect from the world and spend some time in a quiet rural area surrounded by the majestic Ouachita mountains. The D bar D farmhouse is a cozy, family-friendly house that is literally located on a family farm. Less than .25 miles down the road you will find an access point to enjoy the peaceful Ouachita river or drive a short 30 minutes to Wolf Pen Gap to ride ATVs or find Irons Fork Lake 6 miles away to take in nature and fish or watch the sunset from the farmhouse backyard.

The farmhouse has a fully stocked kitchen when you first walk in, with a bar and stools instead of a dinning area. Close by is a coffee station with all the fixin's. The living room has a couch and a sofa with 4 recliners. There is a Roku TV where you can stream TV subscriptions, such as Netflix and Hulu, or there is a DVD and VCR player attached where we include family-friendly movies. Each bedroom comes with one bed, 2 of them have full sized beds and the third has a queen sized bed. There is plenty of closet space in each room as well. Also the living room is spacious enough for a blow up bed for guests to bring along. Both bathrooms include a shower and the utility room has a fully functioning washer and dryer. Walk out the door and you have the option of a shaded patio with furniture, a fire pit and a charcoal grill. We also provide an outdoor dog pen for any large or outside dogs.

Guests are able to have the whole house and yard to themselves. There is plenty of room to park several vehicles, trailers, and ATVs. There is also a river access about 1/4 mile down the road.

Please note that this house is located on a working farm. Tractors and other farm equipment may be driving in front of the house. Cows are sometimes getting moved across the road to a different pasture, so you may even get to witness a real-life cattle drive! Also recently a 50 amp camper outlet has been added to the yard for an extra camper parking fee.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

It was a pleasant evening in the country. We had everything we needed for our stay and the beds were comfortable. Our hostess was very attentive and gave us good instructions and tips on restaurants.

Country Getaway
Cute farmhouse in the country. Peaceful and quiet. The host was so nice and stayed in contact. We arrived just after dark, and she had left the light on for us. We enjoyed our stay. There were puzzles and games to play. There’s Roku on the tv. Comfy reclining couch and loveseat. Neat old barns on the property and antique farm equipment. Reminded us of our grandparents farm.

Quaint Farmhouse
We really enjoyed the farmhouse experience. It was nice to get out of Mena a little ways where we could see the stars shining at night and hear the cattle in the fields. Hosts were great. We had some friends come over and grilled some steaks outside. They enjoyed it for the short time they were there before they headed back to their room. Thanks again!

Just great
Perfect stay. I loved how close the house is to town, but also out in the country. The house was clean, Dotsy was very quick to respond and even brought a cake pan to thr house so i didnt have to pack one. There was plenty of room to play inside and also a nice area for sitting outside, as well as enough room to run and play

Great Little Farmhouse!
The location was great. My family was looking for a "home away from home" feel during a road trip. The farmhouse was just what we were looking for! The property manager was kind and provided information on local businesses where we could eat/shop during our stay. The house itself was great, and we enjoyed our time there. We hope to stay there again the next time we are in town.

We filled the house with 8 people but it was very fun! Plenty of area for the grandkids to run around in the yard. I most enjoyed early morning coffee on the carport. It was close to shopping and restaurants. We very much enjoyed the accommodations. Thanks!

Wonderful Stay at the Farmhouse
This property near Mena was super clean and very well maintained. The house was decorated so cutely and was well stocked with everything we needed. We stayed here as a home base for spending some time at the Crater of Diamonds in Murfreesboro. The area was very pretty and the view from the farmhouse was superb. Our dog stayed with us and loved the yard and was very comfortable as well. The owner, Dotsy was very helpful and friendly. She even offered to let us come early and stay late. Her and her husband drove by in the mornings on their atv's to take care of their farm. It was fun getting to say hello to them. The outdoor area was a wonderful place to sip our morning coffee and play with the dog. The town of Mena was very close and had everything we needed including some great places to eat, shop and have coffee. I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone coming through the area.

This property is a treasure and a treat - charming and welcoming, and so is host Dotsy! It's clean and comfortable, includes all the essentials and more, has several lovely sitting areas outside and inside, and comfy beds too! The house and property are situated along a quiet road that gently curves among other spacious properties where passersby give neighborly waves, and it has wide open views in every direction of grassy hills dotted with mature trees. There's a state park nearby with walking trails (we unfortunately didn't have time to visit), and downtown Mena is also near with dining options and interesting shops. We found the the property wonderfully peaceful, relaxing and picturesque, and have nothing but good to say about it - it and owner Dotsy are among the many great memories of our visit to Arkansas!

Nice break from hotels!
Our band played at the Mena Eclipse Festival, and there were no hotels available on our date. I found this property on Vrbo and booked it. If we could, we would do this on all out-of-town dates. Staying at this rural property (and listening to coyotes howl at night!) was such a great experience!

Fall Road Trip
We had a one night stay in Mena before heading home after a week long visit to various scenic locations in Arkansas. Although the house is a bit older, it’s charming and decorated with love. The beds were very comfortable, each with their own beautiful blanket. We had our best nights sleep in the comforts of the farm! A sweet reminder of treasured laidback times with loved ones.

Family house
Had extended family event in the area and we really enjoyed staying someplace that felt relaxed and in the country but just outside of town. Fire pit was fun. Loved the cattle herd panorama in the living room. This place would be perfect for families with kids but also works for older folks. Owners are very nice and accommodating. We weren’t able to stay long and arrived late but it was such a cheerful place even coming in late. Everyone wants to come again sometime for fun.
