Spend a relaxing family vacation in this vacation home near the beach.
In Melito Porto Salvo, part of the Greek-speaking area of Bovesia in Calabria, you will find this vacation home with everything you need for a great family vacation. The well-equipped kitchen will become the center of the family as you cook together during the day and enjoy meals at the cozy dining table. Your kids can challenge each other in Uno on the couch while dinner is cooking. In the evening, mom and dad can chat on the balcony with a glass of wine late into the night. Tomorrow you can go to the beach and jump into the waves of the Ionian Sea.
Enjoy the view from Spiaggia lungomare dei mille, the southernmost point of the Italian peninsula. On the rock face of Monte Calvario lies the mysterious and fascinating ghost town of Pentedattilo, abandoned after the catastrophic earthquake of 1783. The small town can only be reached on foot. Areas of the town have been partially restored. A nighttime visit is possible only in August, when the town's pathways are illuminated. Pentedattilo also hosts a film festival for international short films every year between August and September. Don't forget the mountain village, Bova, which is located at an altitude of 820 meters and offers an incomparable 360-degree view of the mountainous National Park and across the Strait of Messina to Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. The Castle of Sant'Aniceto, dating back to the Byzantine period, is located in an isolated position and is undoubtedly also worth a visit.
