The staff was incredibly kind, giving us detailed directions into Matsumoto and even going out of their way to drop us off at a more convenient train station! The property is tucked up in the mountains, and it was magical to gaze at the magnificent view while soaking in the rotemburo (outdoor bath). This is a special place, that makes you feel like part of their family. The food was exceptional and a true kaiseki experience!
This is a great find! The location is idyllic overlooking the valley and mountains and the staff are more than welcoming and friendly. We had called with a few questions prior to arrival and all queries were dealt with most efficiently. Our rooms was typical Japanese style with private bathroom (highly recommended) and had all the extras such as tea ready to drink, robes ready to wear and beds made up while we were at dinner. The restaurant was very good and great at helping us through with explanations of our Japanese set menu. The onsen here is also great - especially sitting outside! All in all a most enjoyable experience with extremely friendly welcome.
