Although this was right by the train station, meaning the location wasn’t amazing. It was also very easy to get to and the property itself was clean air conditioned. The staff was friendly and it was super cute! I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed a couple of nights at this oasis of a hotel in the heart of Marseille. On arrival, just across from the train station, we were warmly welcomed by Xander who went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and show us to our room. We had a large family room with comfortable beds which was very clean, modern and quiet. We loved the courtyard area and had breakfast at the hotel which was great - plenty of choice and fresh waffles were made for my teens when requested! The hotel is in a convenient location for accessing the train station and is a short walk to the port area. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous little hotel across from Ste Charles train station. The area around is okay. The hotel is clean and quiet. We had a room for 4 which worked well. One quirk, the toilet was in one part of the room and the sink/shower at the other end. Air conditioning was perfect for the hot weather. Breakfast was a little pricey but there were lots of options: pastry, bacon and eggs. There’s a patisserie two doors up. Front desk staff were extremely helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

It kind of sucks.
When I arrived there was a couple who had all of their stuff stolen from their room. They charge you $35 to use the spa so this really isn't a spa hotel. It's just a hotel and it's near the train station, so whatever you expect you should lower your expectations dramatically.

We loved our stay here! The rooms were nice, the area was convenient (right next to the train station and a short walk from the old port) and the inner courtyard was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. FYI - the spa is extra and you need to book in advance.

The hotel was great and the staff very friendly. There is a restaurant right next to it which makes it very convenient if you are hungry at anytime. It is open 24/7. I did not like how dirty it was outside the property, however, I am not sure if the property can do anything about it. Overall, the hotel was very nice. They do have amenities that I would have liked to have used but they do charge extra for everyone of them. That would have made the stay way too expensive. Same with laundry, they charge way too much so I had to find a laundry facility to do our laundry.

The hotel and staff are amazing. If you want a place to stay for a night close to the St Charles station, honestly this is it. Amazing staff and amenities. The area around it sucks. No good restaurants, and overall Marseille is a horrible city. Unsafe and extremely dirty.

The Alex Hotel & Spa was booked due to it's close proximity to the train station. The staff upon check-in were helpful & friendly and our room was clean and renovated - it was one of our favorite stays in France! Also, the balcony was a plus and was a great way to relax and unwind after a day of travel while still enjoying the city.

Lovely City Centre retreat
This is a very comfortable Hotel within easy reach of the main train station and its links to the Airport. A short walk finds you at the Old Harbour - would certainly return here

Nicely fitted out in modern style. We had a room overlooking the charming breakfast courtyard, not the main road, so it was peaceful and there were trees outside the window, which is unusual for an hotel so close to the station. Price was good too. We didn't have breakfast, as we preferred to go out.

Such a gem of a hotel. The area isn’t particularly great but you are 10 mins walk from Vieux port and near les paniers plus ideal for the train station which is across the road. This is the only “flaw” which really isn’t that big an issue - otherwise perfect and the staff are super helpful and friendly

An Oasis a cross the road walk from St Charles
A wonderful hotel. You can see the hotel sign from outside St Charles Station (exit down the escalator near the taxi stand, but do not take a taxi its a short walk). The rooms are a good size with a large bathroom with an excellent shower. The breakfast room has an outside relaxed terrace with hot and cold options and excellent coffee. The hotel has a gym and sauna with a small indoor pool. Out the back is a seperate small boutique building with additional rooms. The service is warm and friendly with a willingness to accommodate for example the air-conditioning in my room was inefficient so they moved me to an alternative room. It is a short walk down Place de Athens turn right at McDonalds and voila you are a short walk to the Old Port. Alex Hotel and Spa is now my preferred place to stay in Marseille.
