I really enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn in Marina. The staff was very nice, I noticed that the ladies who worked in the breakfast and dining area really took a lot of pride in keeping it well-maintained and clean. My room was extremely clean and nice. A breakfast with a lot of food choices was also provided which I appreciated. I plan on coming back to this Hampton when I return to Marina.
Pros: the bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was decent - two flavors of waffle batter, some type of egg and some type of meat. The furnishings were modern.
Cons: black mold in the shower, hair dryer only worked on low. I had to work 7a-7p each day I was there so every time I called the front desk it was the night shift employee who does not have access to the housekeeping storage to get a new hair dryer. He also said he would tell maintenance about the black mold but no one ever came so I cleaned it as well as I could with a paper towel. Won’t be staying here on my next work trip.
Spacious suite. I would ask if cleaning staff could check for spiders. We found 2 upon arriving and we had an infant crawling around. Otherwise good hotel and staff was friendly!

The mattresses were so uncomfortable that we couldn’t sleep. We were on a family vacation and stayed at 5 different hotels along the way. This was by far the most expensive, and was by far the most uncomfortable. Staff was nice and the room was clean. If you don’t want to get a good nights sleep I highly recommend.
We had a great stay and usually stay here when visiting family. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the breakfast provides many options. The staff is helpful and readily available. I’d recommend as it’s close to the Peninsula as well as Santa Cruz and not too far from SJC.
