It is the work of the Barcelona architect Arnald Calvet i Peyronill, who had already worked for the family designing the Casa Jorba building in the Portal de l'Àngel in Barcelona in 1926. Regarding the Manresa building, Calvet distanced himself from his characteristic modernist style to embrace a purely art deco aesthetic. Its construction was carried out in three different phases developed in 1936, 1945 and 1952.
