NO elevator....which I did read on the reviews But didn't know exactly many flights of stairs to the 3rd floor. Could live with that. Found out in morning there was no hot water. Reported to front desk. They let us take a shower in the room next door. Came back that night and still no hot water but could not use another room Next day moved us. Bigger room..nice but hot water lasted less than a minute. They did comp us for one night. Would not go back

THC Hostel
Room was adequate without any frills but was perfectly clean and sufficient. Walls were very paper thin and sound was very permeable from adjacent rooms and hallways.Shower was also slightly broken but did not cause a major issue. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and provided good suggestions for bars/restaurants/coffee however we did experience some difficulty checking out as we had to leave very early in the morning to catch a flight and we were unable to reach the concierge to check out and return our keys even though the service was 24/7. Location is fantastic and in good walking distance to many sights/bars/food etc.

We arrived to find out our room wasn't on the 1st floor where reception is but on the very top floor with several flights of stairs and no lift. I asked if we could change our room but was told they were booked out. I knew there was no lift but thought the rooms were on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans), which is manageable. So be sure to know where your room is, don't have heavy bags and be fit. The basic room was ok - small with a very tiny bathroom and loud toilet that sounded like a jet engine when flushed. I guess, since its an old building, there has to be special plumbing? People at reception were friendly and fast to fix the sticky lock on our room, which nearly got us locked in. The only positive is the location...a stones throw from the Gran Via. There is still some street noise but the hostel is on a small street so it wasn't that bad..with the exception of the last night when there were people being loud on the street until early morning (this can still be heard from the top floor of the building and with ear plugs in). And you can hear the people in the room next door. If you don't mind this and find a room at a discounted or low rate compared to other hostels, then maybe its worth discomforts bc of the close location to Gran Via. Or pay for a larger room. But, I wouldn't stay again or pay high rates for this hostel. The best part was the Breakfast and brunch place right across the street.

Central location but avoid front rooms
We were given the room directly outside of reception. Sadly we only managed to get about 7 hours sleep in the first three nights. We asked to be moved and were moved to a inside room round the back. Much quieter albeit a little smaller than the original room. The staff were great. Only one fella from the night shift didn’t speak English which is understandable. If we hadn’t have been placed in the ‘noisy room’ initially, this would have been a full 5* review. Location, it probably couldn’t have been any better although the hotel is a little hard to find initially.

Its my first time to book a hostel, it wasn't that bad after all. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable, most importantly I had my private bathroom, and the AC was great.

Great place to stay
. Had a private room with my own bathroom. Shower was small but overall the room was clean and bed comfortable. The staff was nice. It is centrally located in Gran via and Chueca. Great place to stay. Amazing coffee brunch spot across the street and spanish restaurant next door.
