Excellent hotel and conveniently located to dining, markets, bus/train station and plaza. Friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent early breakfast served prior to Machu Picchu visits and Wuanapicchu climb. Attentive staff-brought up two glasses and a wine bottle opener for us. We enjoyed our wine on the patio overlooking the surrounding mountains and river of Aguas Calientes. Conveniently located to everything. Arranged for late checkout due to second day trek. Ideal hotel for any Machu Picchu visitor!

Book junior suite! Amazing balcony and service.
Tierra viva was probably my favorite hotel in our 12 night honeymoon- i cant recommend it enough. Book room 504 (junior suite), trust me! It has a large balcony overlooking the urabamba river, with a view both up and down the river. Staff met us at the train station, which i didnt expect, but allowed us to ditch our bags and get to our tour on time. Staff also drew maps for me, gave us drinks and let us check out late. They also have a filtered water bottle filler in th lobby, the only one ive seen in peru- this saves a lot of headache managing water.

This hotel was perfect for our trip to Machu Picchu. Breakfast was super early, they let us store our bags, and the room was comfy and clean. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and right by the water. Wish we could have stayed longer!
