It was horrible. Nothing was as advertised. Unclean, an uncaring staff. The windows didn't lock. the room was up 3 flights of stairs so dark you couldn't see during the day. And they kept turning the lights off. no breakfast unless you get up at 5 am
Nothing was as advertised. No shuttle. No breakfast most days. Windows didn’t lock. No cleaning. Bathroom stunk. 3 flights of stairs to our room. 4 flights to dining room. No help with bags. About a half mile uphill walk. Everything on Expedia was a lie.

Two night stay while we were getting ready to see Machu Picchu and then coming back from there. COmfoy and easy walk from the train station and then to the bus stop for the ride to Machu Picchu. It is very damp in the jungle, so it was difficult to dry our clothes and towels in the bathrooms, the breakfast was ok only. But this hotel served it's purpose certainly and they responded when we needed something and tried to help us fix any problems we had. I would recommend this hotel.
Very clean and modern for such a remote location. Rooms were updated and the hotel is close to everything.

Help Yourself Atmosphere
This property was clean and had a "help yourself" kind of atmosphere. Staff was friendly but did not speak much English and we did not speak much Spanish. It was a different place but the price was right and you get what you pay for.
I went as far as the reception desk and left. My message to the property hours prior to arrival was unanswered. The location and condition of the property were poor. Choose other options.
This is an inexpensive option among several in Machu Picchu. However, the nicely tiled hallways and stairs are perfect for reflecting noise all over the place. Plus, checkout is at 9:00, and the hardworking staff gets going at about 4:15, turning on hall lights, which shine right into the rooms. If you need a very early wake-up, this your spot. The staff is very good.
There's no airport shuttle as stated on Expedia. When I called immediately after to plan with the hotel and they advised me there is no airport shuttle, I advised I will have to cancel. They said to give them a few hours to talk to Expedia and confirm site states there is an airport shuttle and that they will refund me. Then they refuse to pick up calls or respond to my emails,m. I even provided them screen shots of the site stating they had an airport shuttle. They declined my refund and made up to Expedia that I waited a prolonged period of time for a refund and kept my money. Shady people
The room is ok but what really dissapointed me to was that the bathroom is horrible, old, a lot of humidity and the worst thing is that the shower don't have curtain and all the water goes out and fill all the bathroom with water. I will never recommend this hotel.
Terrible hotel. No insulation. You can hear everything that is happening in other rooms, people talking, showering, using the toilet. Booked a room with a double bed and ended up in a room with 2 single beds.
This Hotel reflects the local people very much. It is a ways away from the train station and a considerable walk up. However the rooms are well-maintained and the people are very accommodating. My only problem is there's no heat in these rooms so you have to get a space heater from the front desk and also there's a bit of humidity in the rooms that improves after the rainy season. It is a short walk from the thermal pool. Overall a very simple place for a great price. Limited English speaking TV and the hotel staff speaks Spanish only.
Good place to stay for a night or two in order to see Machu Picchu. Nothing stands out about the hotel but it was a comfortable, quiet and clean place to stay with hot water. It was pretty hard to find using our map app (maps.me and google maps). We had to wander around a little to find it. Breakfast was delicious and available super early for those going to see the ruins. Coco leaf tea was available (free) 24/7. Wifi was terrible.
The hotel is located very far from the machu pichu bus and train stations. I would also start by calling this more of a hostel than a hotel. There isn't much help around and the rooms have windows peering directly into the stairwell. However the biggest flaw about this hotel is its bathrooms. The shower drain doesn't work well and the water seeps into the bathroom constantly making the bathroom and the rest of the room wet at Amy point. Additionally would not recommend this place to anyone who has allergies. One of us is sensitive to dust mites and came down with horrible allergies after staying at Marco wasi. Ultimately I would rate the place as manageable but if you find another place for the same price would highly recommend you go there instead of Marco wasi.

Decent option in Aguas Calientes
The room was fine in general, and probably pretty good for Aquas Calientes. The lower floors seem to be hostel-style rooms, while the top floors have hotel style rooms with private bath.
If this hotel was in a city, I would've been disappointed with the small bathroom and outdated furnishings. But considering it's in the cool little town of Aguas Calientes, I'd say it's a good option.
Also, the hotel is a bit off the main road, which took me a few laps to find. You have to go down one of the alleys and then up some stairs to get to Marco Was.
breakfast was great, room view great, location great, staff friendly, hot showers worked!

Dark, damp, and drab, barely good for 1 night
If you just need a place to crash for a few hours, then this hotel is probably OK. If you're staying longer than that, then you should go elsewhere. The place is damp, dark, and drab. It was so damp our passports were all curled up after less than one day! They regained their normal shape once we were gone. This place is truly unwelcoming. I want to clarify that I'm not referring to the staff, but to the place itself. The staff was actually quite friendly, helpful and engaging. Too bad they have to work here.
Had a nice view across the town, if you can call the town "nice". Steep walk to the hotel since it's at the far top of the town, and then was another bunch of stairs to the 5th floor. But the room was decent, nothing against the hotel except inconvenient location of the room.
I booked two nights for this hotel and paid in full in advance! However, while I was in Cusco, all the rails were not operating due to strike, therefore no one could get up to the Macchu Picchu! Hotel owner knew that the problem but didn't issue any refund clearly knowing that It was not my fault at all!! Bad business practice! I lost two nights up there due to the strike they had!
The bathroom was so slippery that i just stood on one location after i started showering. I was afraid that i moved, i would slip on the floor and hurt myself. It was a terrible experience. Also, the sleeping bed was uncomfortable. My wife and i couldnt sleep properly whole night . The room size was very small too. Overall, it was a bad experience.
