Its in the middle of the forest, horses, donkeys are a regular attraction in the carpark. After the last customer has left the premises the silence and darkness is golden. Breakfast and dinner as always impeccable as is the service.
Staff were warm and friendly, food excellent, rooms small but immaculate, beautiful property and surrounding area, I loved this Inn and definitely will come back to stay
The food was amazing! We had dinner there and found it delicious. Plus, the breakfast was fab too. The rooms were cosy and bed comfortable. Enjoyed our stay very much. Service was great too!
Had a lovely time in the inn with beautiful surroundings right in the beautiful forest. Very comfortable room and bed and the breakfast was very tasty.. ghosts yes as my husband had a incounter
We had a lovely three night stay at the New Forest Inn. The staff were extremely friendly from the start and made us feel very welcome. Our room, the cosy double, while small was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. The inclusive full English breakfast was generous and very tasty and food was available all day in the pub restaurant, with excellent choices. We have every intention of returning to this Inn for a relaxing break.
I don’t usually review but really liked this place. Lovely country pub with excellent clean, newly fitted rooms that are quirky due to being an old pub. Don’t expect large spacious rooms. Old pubs in Uk are small. Great staff. Good food and the walking trails are behind the pub. Lots to see and do in the area if you’re not into walking.
Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the staff especially the bar lady. Very friendly.
What a great place.
Staff were really good, food was excellent and as for the breakfast - best I have had in a long time.
Great to sit and watch the wild ponies walk past.

This hotel is not modern upscale, but we didn't expect it to be. Very old, creaky and funky better describes it (but charming nonetheless). Warning - hobbit built - If you are over 6 ft. tall it might not suit you well. Standard rooms are quite small and the bed is a double not a queen. WIFI works well.
That being said, the staff, restaurant and bar are outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, the restaurant quality is very good (somewhat a rarity in the UK). Breakfast included is outstanding and nearly pays for the room. Good beer and wine selection.

Lovely Inn, but
We stayed over to attend a wedding nearby. Room was fairly small and although booking stated a Queen bed, ours was most definitely not a Queen bed.
Breakfast was superb, but room very, very hot.
Staff were very friendly and helpful excellent food
Nothing was to much trouble

Liked: Amenities
Basic accommodation in a beautiful spot with lots of walking options right outside your door. Restaurant offers the usual pub food. Steep and narrow stairs up to the rooms make it unsuitable for those with impaired mobility.

We had a lovely stay at the New Forest Inn. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was delicious and the room was quiet. The only reason I gave 4 stars not 5 is because the room was swelteringly hot and could do with a lick of paint.
We were blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff were, every single one of them , I would highly recommend here and will definitely return , food is amazing , so much choice and large portions , we absolutely loved it .

A weekend break
A nice old stile coaching in in a quiet location in the New Forest. Very friendly and welcoming for people and the dog.Excellent food (both dinner and breakfast). The room was perfectly functional, if a little tired and would benefit from a refresh.
Food excellent service very good. Warm friendly & welcoming atmosphere in pub.
Rooms clean & comfortable if a little small. However they do have limited space & have made the most of it. More than satisfied for an overnight stay. Would stay again.

Good location, welcoming hosts, clean, comfortable, warm, and good food.
Decor is a bit tired and room lighting could be brighter.
A pleasant overnight stop in the New Forest.

A disappointment in the forest
The New Forest Inn has a good sized restaurant, an excellent menu, and the service and food quality is good. Where this Inn falls down is in the standard of the accommodation. We had room #1, up a narrow and steep staircase. The room had a double bed which almost filled the room leaving little space to walk around. There were no chairs and there was no dressing table. There were no bedside tables.
In the ensuite shower and toilet, the ceiling light was missing its cord to switch it "on", the cold water tap was difficult to turn on and equally difficult to turn off, and the toilet had to be encouraged to flush by cranking the handle several times.
There was considerable noise in the evening from the service area of the Inn on the ground floor below the room.
