We had a great one night stay at Skyland. A very large complex with walking trails, 2 restaurants and a Starbucks. Our room was very clean, bed comfortable, water hot, temp of room perfect. Good fast heater. Only complaint is internet speed almost non existent in outlying buildings - we were in Franklin. Our only real complaint. As many have said before, long wait even in the bar. Waitresses and Bartender excellent, just understaffed for how many people to serve. Dinner took about 1 hour after ordering ( 2 burgers) so be prepared. I enjoyed the Rickshaw Cabernet and my husband the beer on tap. Overall a lovely stay.

Everyone at the desk had their nose in the air. Once they saw i booked on Expedia...it was like they didnt care to talk to me or help me. Room is outdated as hell and the bed was awful. Fokd was good and coffee was good but the service was just awful aside from our one waiter at the restaurant. He was nice. Big Meadow was so much better. Skyland views are great but only if u get a room like that. Call the property to book if u want a nice view. I thought i was getting one with a Deluxe room or whatever but thats not true at all. Not the best experience but ill stay again cause of the Appalachian trail and views. Those are the only reasons.

Although it is old and rustic, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The view from the porch cannot be beat. We ate in the dining room. The food was delicious especially the blackberry cobbler. The service was also excellent.

Try it out! You may just surprise yourself!

First time ever visiting Skyland resort and Shenandoah National Park. At first I had a little bit of worry! Like why did I not research more. But, after the easy checkin and finding our room, turns out it aas wonderful. I got a traditional room (no fridge or microwave), there was a coffee maker! Not something I was use to but overall I surprised myself and didn't even care! The view from our patio was great. The hikes are wonderful! We will be back!
