Perched high in the trees, this cozy cabin offers stunning views of Hale Passage and the distant lights of Bellingham, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable getaway.

Autumn and Winter Highlights

Imagine yourself curled up on a window seat with a warm cup of tea, gazing out at the mist-covered waters and the rich colors of the fall foliage. The surrounding woodlands, alive with the sounds of nature, provide a peaceful sanctuary for unwinding and reconnecting with the simpler pleasures of life.

After a brisk walk exploring the island’s scenic trails or beachcombing along the shoreline, return to the warmth of the cabin. Soak in the cedar hot tub, where you can take in panoramic views of the landscape, now painted in the muted tones of autumn or the serene stillness of winter. As evening falls, gather around the fire pit to share stories under the clear, star-filled skies.

Cabin Comforts

Inside, Heron’s Nest Cabin is a warm and welcoming space, with natural wood interiors, vaulted ceilings, and large windows that fill the cabin with soft light. The open layout blends the living, dining, and kitchen areas, making it the ideal setting for cozy gatherings. Whether you’re cooking a comforting meal in the well-equipped kitchen or dining by the unique tree root table, the cabin’s thoughtful details enhance the charm of your stay.

Each bedroom is designed with comfort in mind. The primary king suite features heated floors in the ensuite bathroom, providing an extra touch of luxury on cool evenings. A second bedroom, tucked among the treetops, offers a peaceful retreat with its own window seat—perfect for morning coffee and quiet reflection.

Outdoor Living

Even in the cooler months, the expansive deck and cedar hot tub remain favorite spots for relaxation. Wrap yourself in a blanket and enjoy the view from the deck, or take a refreshing shower in the outdoor cedar shower house, which offers an invigorating connection to nature. The fire pit is a perfect gathering place for star-gazing and enjoying the crisp night air, with the gentle sounds of nature all around you.

Discover the Beauty of Lummi Island

Lummi Island is a hidden gem year-round, and autumn and winter offer their own special beauty. Enjoy long walks through the island’s scenic preserves, visit local artist galleries, or simply take a slow drive to soak in the tranquil surroundings. Heron’s Nest Cabin is your perfect home base for embracing the quiet charm of Lummi Island during the cooler months. Whether you’re seeking solitude, connection with nature, or a cozy getaway with loved ones, this cabin offers it all. We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is lovely, and the setting can’t be beat. Within walking distance of a beautiful hike. Gorgeous view out of the living space and dining space. Communication was prompt. We will definitely come again.

Relaxing and restful stay
Heron’s Nest is exactly as described and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The lodge is clean and comfortable with everything you need to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the covered porch during a couple of rainy days and enjoyed the hot tub, as well. Lots of hiking trails nearby and the farm stands on the island were wonderful. Communications were prompt and helpful throughout and were appreciated. Could not have been any better! Awesome stay!

Absolutely gorgeous place. Everything was perfect. The only drawback is the driveway. Very steep and very narrow. But once you get there, it’s all worth the effort!!

Amazing property! Serene and relaxing.
What a great home on a quaint island. Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Jackie is an amazing host that communicates thoroughly before and during your stay. The house has everything you’ll need and more. My only comment is the home is listed with 2.5 full baths but the main house only has 1.5 baths. This was not a big issue for us but just something to note. There is an outdoor shower but it was too cold to use at the time.

Beautiful!
Honestly the pictures don't even do this property justice. The home is pristine and gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at the property. You'll definitely want to pack light as the trek up the hill is challenging with large bags but the view from the top is totally worth it. Thank you to our hosts for an incredible experience!

Amazing!!!!
Property was everything and more! The cabin itself was perfect. Clean, beautiful, and functional. The outdoor areas and views were what really made this place. The hot tub was so nice. We ate all of our meals on the back covered porch. Wife and I talked about this being an every year tradition! Jackie was also amazing with her communication and prompt responses. Thanks again!!!

Perfect location for a small group
My wife and I stayed with 3 friends; it was absolutely perfect. The view is amazing, the house has everything you want on site (just bring food), and multiple ways to wind down and relax are provided: hot tub, covered patio, firepit w/ chairs. All of us enjoyed ourselves and we intend to make this a regular event.

Great stay! Great Place!
Jackie was great, helpful, and easy to work with. Property was actually a little better than advertised. While it looks great as it’s listed, it’s even a little better, when you get there. The deck and Jacuzzi are obvious features, but I really enjoyed laying in the hammock, looking up at trees, or out into the ocean. It was the serenity that we all needed.

Wonderful Getaway Experience
We wanted a family getaway for the 4 of us (parents and two teens), and this was perfect in every way. The property is beautiful and the cabin is so cozy and comfortable. The woodstove kept us warm inside and the hot tub kept us warm outside. Wonderful place to unplug, relax, and retreat. We'll definitely be back.

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway
This is a cozy beautiful home tucked away in the woods which makes for a magical holiday weekend. The amenities are really great, loved the beer/beer guide provided! Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor amenities as well, cedar hot tub not to be missed. The beds are very comfy and the living space was great for catching World Cup. The fireplace is nice in the rain but we were still drawn outside to some fun activities on the property.
