A very memorable stay
Our 3rd stay at Seaside Sanctuary and this time we stayed 2 weeks. Stacey is always super-communicative and the house has everything you could possibly need. We were able to get in some nice day trips down to the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National Park, Milbridge, Calais, Eastport, Reversing Falls, Machias & Jasper Beach. We caught a sunrise at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse and explored Cobscook Shores and points around Lubec and the Bold Coast. We spent about 1/2 the time there just "being" at the house- soaking in the views, getting out on our kayaks and taking in the ever-changing tides, wildlife & scenery. And the QUIET; maybe the quietest place we have ever been. We were also treated to 2 nights of the Aurora Borealis, which were absolutely stunning! This is a very special & magical place and we will be back, hopefully sooner than later.

Exquisite
This home is my secret getaway destination. After a stay here, I’m refreshed and ready to face the world. The location is ideal - solitude if you want it but easy access to towns, shops, and galleries. Stacey, the owner, is just a text away if something comes up, but the house is so well appointed you typically don’t need anything extra. I will be honest - this is not the Maine of Bar Harbor or busy tourist towns on the southern coast. But it is the Maine I love best. If you want to spend your days hiking and paddling lakes and your evenings gazing at star-filled skies, this is the place for you.

Stunning views, Beautiful home
We had an incredible stay at Seaside Sanctuary. Spectacular views and the perfect home to unwind and unplug. Truly one of the most beautiful properties to be found anywhere. Gorgeous views of the cove with comfy rockers and Adirondack chairs for sunrise and sunset vistas. House is well-taken care of, spotlessly clean, and has everything you need plus some excellent extras - binoculars, fans, pretty margarita glasses w/ matching pitcher, stock pots for lobster, fantastic lighting, comfy seating and beautiful decor. Beds were super comfy plus two full bathrooms. Nothing better than waking up in the morning to gaze right from bed at the sparkling water! We had so much fun trying to spot the eagles each day. We also saw seals, cormorants, and a very friendly red squirrel who visited daily. We could have spent each day relaxing in the various areas designed for enjoying everything this property has to offer - nature, the sea, wildlife, and views. Morning coffee on the deck at the southeastern end of the property and drinks in the evening in the chairs at the northwestern end! We had fantastic weather but Seaside Sanctuary would have been just as lovely on a rainy day. We also enjoyed seeing some sights in Lubec - Bold Coast/Boot Head Preserve, Quoddy Head, Monica’s Chocolates, and Love at First Light Ice Cream were some highlights. But really and truly our favorite thing to do was hang out at our seaside sanctuary! Stacey was also an excellent host and check-in/out was easy.

Beautiful stay
This was our first trip to Maine, and Stacey’s house did not disappoint! It was beautiful! Everything was very clean and easy to find, and I cannot BEGIN to describe the views. The location was serene and peaceful; if not for the occasional plane flying overhead, it really does feel like there’s no one around. Stacey was also great communicating; it was easy to get in touch with her as needed and she responded quickly to all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Getaway in the Woods
Seaside Sanctuary is a beautiful home nestled in the quiet woods of true Down East Maine, with breathtaking views of the tidal coastline. The home was very comfortable and true to the pictures on the website. Although the weather did not cooperate (rain, fog, and a hurricane headed right for us), we enjoyed our time spent in the house and exploring the nearby area as much as possible. Stacey was very easy to communicate with and was very concerned about our well being with the approaching storm. I would recommend this home to anyone seeking solitude and a picturesque location. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Stacey & Tripp.

"Private Seaside Sanctuary" is the perfect description for this home
We are a group of women friends who travel together several times a year. This is our second visit to this home because we loved it so much the first time. The place is private, and the views are unbelievable - there are several places around the property to sit comfortably, drink your favorite beverage, and take in the sights. The surrounding area provides many opportunities for incredible hiking, biking and kayaking. We loved our second visit as much as our first - would highly recommend this home!

Great Maine Experience
The property is remote and therefore quiet and private. We had wonderful views of the water and the changing tides from the back deck and also areas to sit right in the shore and on the front porch a feel of being in the mountains with all the densely forested trees. It is in a great location for trips to Lubec and Eastport and to Canada. We had an unforgettable week thanks to this special “Seaside Sanctuary”

A Slice of Heaven
We had the most relaxing week at Seaside Sanctuary. We enjoyed the absolute peacefulness and beauty during our stay. Everything was clean and cozy. The deck in the morning was our spot to enjoy our coffee and the chairs in the bedroom were a comfortable spot to enjoy our wine and look at the moon and water at night. The unobstructed views were amazing and it was exciting to see a nesting pair of eagles and seals during our stay. We really enjoyed the area as well - Monica’s Chocolates, Campobello, Eastport, etc. There many good restaurants with delicious seafood. We hope to come back Seaside Sanctuary and the Lubec area again!

The Ever Changing Vista @ Seaside Sanctuary
We were already excited before we even got to our destination as the paved roads turned to gravel and our location became more and more remote. Then when we opened the front door we were enchanted to find ourselves in a sumptuous cozy oasis with stellar ocean views and every amenity we could have wanted. The decor is charming, eclectic, and homey, with wonderful rich wood furniture and fascinating museum worthy accents. We were delighted to see several juvenile and adult eagles, red squirrels, seals, and even deer across on Parker Island. We picked blueberries right in front of the house! Day trips were to Campobello for Tea with Eleanor, and Eastport, Reversing Falls, Quoddy Head, and Hamilton Cove. We ate out in Lubec at Water Street Tavern and Cohills, and The Narrow Escape. Couldn’t have asked for a better visit! It is indeed a Seaside Sanctuary…we will remember our stay there!

A little slice of heaven
What a beautiful home! Loved the decor and all the amenities. By far the best equipped home we have stayed in. Although it rained almost the entire time we were there, we were still able to enjoy the views thanks to all of the wonderful windows. We loved watching all of the wildlife. I especially enjoyed the squirrel who met me at the door throughout the day, and, imagine my surprise when I looked out one evening to see a raccoon sitting at the door looking in at me. While our stay was not everything we planned due to the weather, it was absolutely everything we needed. We have recommended this lovely home to everyone we know.

Secluded paradise
Our 2nd visit to Seaside Sanctuary and we will be back again! Just an amazing property with so many places to comfortably view the coming & going tides. Plenty of things to do in the area as well, we caught a couple of amazing full-moonrises at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse and hiked the cliff trails on site as well. We also rented kayaks from a place in Machias and got out on the water almost everyday, one of those days we were visited by 4 Bald Eagles at the same time! The decks around the property are also prime spots for star gazing. The house itself is super cozy and on the 2 days the weather wasn't "cooperating", we spent time in the window seat gazing out into the rain and fog and ever-changing seascape. A true Downeast Maine experience. So thankful for Stacey sharing this property- a remarkable place for quiet, rest and rejuvenation!

Peaceful, remote getaway
We had a lovely time at the cabin! This was such a peaceful place to be; something that is still sticking with me is the quiet. We did not hear another man made noise while we were at the house 😁. It was water, loons, gulls, and wind in the pines… so nice. The weather didn’t cooperate much while we were there, so we didn’t get to explore much, though Quoddy Head State Park was a delight (and a surprise when we wandered into the Atlantic time zone without knowing, whoops!). Thankfully, the cabin was well appointed and very comfortable, so staying in was nice too. If you are looking for a peaceful place to go and want to get away from crowds, I highly recommend this stay!!

We have stayed here before and had another amazing visit in 2022. The property and view are so lovely and private and the house is well placed to enjoy the cove and woods from every room. The variety of outdoor seating spaces gives different angles of the tides, islands, and sunsets. Can’t wait to return here.

Restorative Getaway
This is the fifth time I’ve stayed at Seaside Sanctuary. This year I spent one week on my own and invited my parents (mid-70s) up for the second week. I wanted them to experience the Way Downeast that I’ve been visiting for two decades. This home is the perfect place to do that. Its location is ideal because it combines quiet solitude with proximity to town (Lubec) and the many lakes and hiking trails in this part of Maine. The house is well appointed with just about everything you’ll need, and if you do have a problem the owner is easily reached by text. Seaside Sanctuary is integrated into my annual restorative journey to Way Downeast, unplugging from the world and simply breathing. If this is what you seek, I assure you Seaside Sanctuary will meet your needs.
