A little slice of heaven!
I love this property. I came for a return visit, so I knew what to expect. We enjoyed wine by the firepit each night. Thank you! The accommodations are quaint yet top notch. The host family is generous, communicative and accommodating and also respectful of the privacy that we wanted. I book well in advance to make sure I get the date I want to see the Fall colors--there is nowhere better to do this! Thank you!!

Wedding Anniversary
We truly loved our stay in the schoolhouse guesthouse!! The farm property with the 18th century home, outbuildings, cattle and neighborhood for walking, afforded us time for truly enjoying our time together. The decor of Mary Ann and Dan’s guesthouse had wonderful historic elements, with warm colors and great seating and areas for relaxing. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen and had all that we needed. We were welcomed with a full plate of fruit which we enjoyed over our stay. I enjoyed meeting Dan and one of their sons on their wonderful stone patio and we both met Mary Ann outside of their home. Very kind folks. They’ve worked diligently to renovate this historic estate while raising their family. We also were able to make our way out for a few days of sightseeing-the countryside with rolling hills, cattle, horses, sheep, vineyards and farms. We visited Harper’s Ferry, Hillsboro, Leesburg, Antietam and more. We were blessed by our special visit to Lovettsville and we thank Mary Ann and Dan for their hospitality!

I just arrived back home following a wonderful stay at this perfect getaway! Everything was absolutely wonderful! The bed was very comfortable and the home was perfectly appointed. Dinner at Market Bistro is a must! I will definitely be back to this perfect home! If you get the chance, pet the dogs! They are so sweet!!

Rural charm
Out in the country on a small road, yet within easy travel times of wonderful food, history, and culture. We prepared a lot of our meals on-site with food purchased at the local co-op grocery store. Attentive but not intrusive hosts.

Quaint Country Cottage
I was in the area for a training and wanted a quiet stay close to Hope Flower Farm. My expectations were exceeded. This is a beautiful property in a charming neighborhood. I saw deer, goats, and alpacas on my daily drive :) I didn’t come across my hosts but they had everything perfect for me. They even kept the light on for me when my flight was canceled and I had to shift plans. I could not recommend this place enough. I hope to come back in the future! ❤️

Relaxing Getaway
Mary Ann has a wonderful, peaceful farm to spend a nice time away. The amenities are all taken care of. Enjoyed hiking, Harper’s Ferry and other historical sites, wineries, distilleries/breweries, great food and their two dogs (Norma and Russel). Highly recommend a stay here for some rest and relaxation.

Loved this charming little cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. MaryAnn was very responsive to all my questions prior to arrival and very friendly and helpful to offer ideas of places to visit in the area. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and even had plenty of coffee to supply us for the entire visit. Shower/bath combo had plenty of hot water and water pressure. Couch was cozy and comfy. While the cottage is very old, we were very comfortable. Loved the neighborhood, very quiet and lots of friendly neighbors. We would certainly stay there again. But we might try the spring house as we were a little jealous of the other guests who had a balcony over the pond. But, with that said I would stay in the cottage without hesitation. Beautiful property and great property managers. Thanks for the hospitality! I’m just sorry we didn’t have more time to hang out by the fire pit and chat.

Cozy Guest House
My husband and I rented this cozy guest house which is near many local breweries and wineries for our anniversary. Maryann communicated well to us. The place was clean and cute, just what we needed for only the two of us. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Great Virginia Staycation
My husband and I decided to take a vacation close to home and found this cute cottage in the middle of vineyards, breweries and close to Harper’s Ferry. We had a wonderful week and enjoyed staying in a charming little house with history instead of a hotel.

Warm little sanctuary in the country
We came to this area for a wine-tasting weekend, and could not have chosen a better spot as our 'home base.' Wineries surround the farm, and little towns scattered through this remote part of the county provide just enough dining options to keep you happily well fed. The bedroom was so inviting and cozy. And the kitchen and bathroom, while a little old and worn, provided more than enough space/utility to make ourselves at home. Mary Ann was a very welcoming host and her property is gorgeous. We would have spent more time on the farm if it wasn't such a quick trip.

Weekend Getaway
Wonderful and romantic weekend getaway in wine country! Visited several nearby wineries and breweries, hiked in Harpers Ferry National Park, and took a short drive into Ashburn for an upscale dinner. We enjoyed coffee on the patio with the resident dogs (so sweet!!) and watching the goats. The guesthouse is well-appointed and comfortable with a full-sized kitchen. I think we found our new weekend getaway!

Romantic Cottage on a Sweet Farm
We had a relaxing couple of days in this cute old schoolhouse. It’s beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. We were greeted by the hosts two friendly dogs - so sweet! When you’re driving there, you might think you’re on the wrong road because you’re on rock for a bit, but have no fear, you’re almost there. We didn’t cook much, but bring things for breakfast. Enjoyed dinner at Magnolias at the Mill in Purcellville. So many breweries and wineries around the area, but check open times as most were closed on Tuesday. (Not surprising). We ended up at Bluemont Winery and Bear Chase Brewery. Each about 30 minutes away, but worth the trip. Back to the cottage: they’ve just poured a new sidewalk, so getting to the cottage was easy…it’s just a bit off the quiet road. There’s nice kitchen and full refrigerator, plus a TV with movies on CD. Plenty of comfy seating and a full bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, down to wine and cheese on the patio. Oh, and they have another cabin on site, a renovated spring house. It looks very sweet, too!

Country Charm
The Guesthouse was exactly as advertised, but even more charming! Mary Ann was just as charming. Their farm is quaint and in the quiet countryside, but centrally located to all of the towns we planned for our visit. We only needed a weekend but would have been happy to stay the week. Will absolutely look to stay at the Guesthouse if doing another vintage shopping trip.
