Nice jobs with the rooms
I really enjoyed it. I stayed here before 5 years ago and they redid the rooms. Feels wayyy better now. Cleaner and more satisfying. Ill be staying here again soon.

As far as hostels go, it is very clean, safe, quiet, friendly staff, very affordable. Has a kitchen & light breakfast. Within a few blocks of the subway at Wilshire/Western. As well as several bus routes. 2 blocks from a Ralph's grocery store. Plenty of Asian restaurants & a McDonalds within walking distance. Within walking distance of a transit bus to Santa Monica Pier. One block from a transit bus up to Hollywod Blvd & Western. Hostel is conveniently located for getting to many places. It also has a gate locked at night with a code used to get back in. Only negative. Would be nice if it had laundry facilities like some other hostels I've stayed at do

Felt safe and welcome. Friendly staff. Lovely outside seating area and balcony. Room girls only private bunk with curtain and light and phone charger wifi. Very convenient for subway connection . Bathroom nice shower not very warm.

The staff is the most unhelpful, rude, and dishonest group of people I’ve ever met. The people staying there are worse. You’re not allowed to flush toilet paper so the bathrooms are disgusting. They charge for every little things including dirty dishes and towels. They don’t follow the rules they’ve set in place but demand guest follow them strictly. I was woken up by the most rude staff in the middle of the night to take a banana I mistakenly brought into the room. Someone stole it and every additional one I purchased. Upon arrival the same rude staff member told me due to a glitch they would be putting me I a male/mixed dorm although my reservation specifically said “Female”. I was made to stay in the same room as her and moved the next night, only to have a man put in the new room 3 days later. I was told this man only presented as such but “her” passport says she is a woman. I know what a man looks like and after receiving a text about a possible “trespasser” the man was moved and another woman had taken their bed. I returned to the hostel to checkout earlier due the unsafe conditions and lies/mistreatment from staff only to find that the manager would not be refunding me for the days I didn’t stay there. Save your money and find somewhere else to stay at all costs. The worst place I have ever been to.

Hostile want traveling folks from other countries
One thing that hotels.com does not tell you is that with a hostel they want you to be traveling and they want you to present your airplane ticket or bus ticket. I needed but cheap room in LA for one night so I went ahead and went in and I showed them my bus ticket. But my ID was from California. She said I'll let you pass tonight but you can't stay more than one night. So that is not listed in hotels.com.
