Perfect as an overnighter
Perfectly utilitarian and suits an overnight stay pre or post flight before next day connecting. Hotel is quite tired but clean and comfortable. No lifts though so depending on room location, with large bags, this can be impractical. Aviator bar/restaurant overlooking the runway is the star of the show watching all the landings and drink selection plus staff are great

No hash browns!
Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Surprised bins had no liners and towels were changed everyday. I would have been happy to use same towels for my three night stay. Could have done with sanitary bags in bathroom and some biscuits in the room. Kettle wasn’t working and housekeeping dealt with it straightaway! Room service was quick and efficient. Breakfast was nice but would have been nicer with hash browns! Reception staff were polite and helpful at all times.

Average place, good for an overnight stay
Tired hotel, small room, quite a walk to room with no lift, but friendly reception staff and it does the job fine for an overnight stay. POD a bit pricey (£32 for 2) but it is convenient to not have to worry about bus times etc. We’d stay again, it’s fine!

My stay at Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5 was fine overall. The hotel itself is quite basic, but it gets the job done, especially if you're looking for a convenient spot near Terminal 5. One thing to be aware of is the cost of the pods that transport you to and from the terminal – they charge £8 each way per person, which isn’t always clear upfront. It’s something to keep in mind if you're considering the hotel based on budget, as it can add up. The room was decently comfortable, and the double glazing with secondary glass did a great job of blocking out the noise from the nearby planes. I barely noticed the airport activity, which was a nice surprise. All in all, a convenient option for quick access to Terminal 5, but do factor in the pod charges when booking.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Terminal 5. If we had been informed about transport links we would have taken their monorail and saved ourselves a wait of an hour for the hotels shuttle.

It was a nice place to stay near airport if you have to take another flight, the only negative was that there is no lift and you have to carry your luggage up to the stairs to go to your room.

Dated scruffy furniture. Net curtain at window would only pull halfway closed No info from trainee at check in. Had to ask about bar and wrong opening hours given. No info about pod back to terminal. Bar staff very friendly. Would not choose to stay again unless no other choice
