The room and the bathroom was too small for a 5 star hotel and the price charged. Not even a decent coffee machine and was provided instant coffee bag with a kettle. Other than proximity to the palace and West Minster, there is nothing that the hotel be considered 5 star

Spacious and clean rooms and located in a great location. Walking distance to Victoria station gives you quick access to all of London. Right around the corner from Buckingham Palace and easy walking distance to various parks and popular squares.

Rooms were clean - decoration was very regal / old fashioned. Staff were super friendly. Great location. Only issue was service charge being added to everything including a general tip of £15 pp per stay when you are already charged premium prices with a 15% service charge added to everything . Breakfast was expensive at £38 pp for continental plus 15% and very basic so would advise to skip that and eat outside the hotel where there are plenty of great options!

The Rubens is a quintessentially British hotel in a convenient location close to Victoria Station. Cleanliness standards were high and although Rubens is an older hotel the furnishings are up to date and not at all worn. The staff are first-rate and are genuinely interested in making sure you are having a good stay. I highly recommend this hotel
