This is without question a luxury experience but you would expect this as this is what you are paying for. However, having stayed here a year ago and been bowled away by the quality of service and facilities, this time I felt that a few corners were cut that just put a slight damper my experience. The most significant was the soundproofing of the room. Last stay I felt like we were miles away from everyone and everything. This time there was loud music playing outside until 10pm that I could hear from our room and I could hear others moving about though this was still more muted than other hotels. The other quibbles were minor things - no cakes in the cake jar and the quality of the bathrobes was distinctly poorer. Last time when we arrived we were ushered to seats in the lobby, given a glass of prosecco and checked in by a very polite and friendly gentleman. It made us feel very special. This time we queued at the desk and I felt slightly patronised. We were also told that we were being given one of the better rooms but the staff member had obviously presumed that we had not been before because our previous room had been slightly better with a significantly better view.

My stay in this property was wonderful, thanks in large part to Saq at the front desk. He was warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The hotel is lovely, with comfortable rooms and excellent amenities. Saq's exceptional service made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this place!

I recently stayed at Middle Eight and had a fantastic experience. The highlight was the exceptional service from Saq at the front desk. He was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to help with everything, from check-in to local tips. The hotel itself is beautiful, with cozy, modern rooms and great amenities. Saq’s warm hospitality made my stay truly memorable. Highly recommend!

First, the location is great! Short walk to Covent Garden and very close to the Holborn Underground station. It is also walkable to other popular areas including Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. The hotel employees were all friendly. The lobby was clean and welcoming. There is a cute lounge area with books and a chess set just upstairs from the lobby area. The rooms (specifically the Executive rooms) were very clean, comfortable and spacious! Breakfast was pricey but we opted out. There is a Caffe Nero coffee shop a few steps down the street. There is a convenience store and Honest Burgers also right outside the door. If you need an ATM for cash or a grocery store, Sainsbury’s is a 3 minute walk. I hope to stay here again!

I anm a frequent and seasoned traveller. Been round the world 4 times last year. I love staying and reviewing hotels. August is the only time I could stay home in England and I have arranged a few staycations and this is one of them. A stone throw from the bussing Covent Garden here in Central London, Middle Eight looks grand comparing to the rest of the neighbourhood. So I had a high expectation for the stay. The front of house team is very welcoming but I think they are too busy during this peak time and being a bit forgetful. The bell boy who led me to the check in desk while offering a welcome drink but without actually bringing me one. The glass in my suite has lip stick mark on it. The body lotion in my room is missing… other than that the room the pillow the bed is very comfortable. But I am not sure if what I have received is worth the price I was paying.

If you are used to 5 star hotels from major brands, this hotel will not live up to your expectations. The room is comfortable, but the housekeeping is lacking and the service received on the front desk atrocious. I complained that they do not provide water in the room and the guy in a black suit and ginger hair couldn’t even be bothered to speak to me, I had a helpful bell boy helping me. Even though I complained, they never provided water in the room for all three days I was there… this is a 5 star hotel basic! The staff in the restaurant are nice - good bunch. Housekeeping is very slow. You could go out for 6 hours and the room would still not be made up. The onus in this hotel is for you, the customer, to tell them what you want and need. Not 5 star stuff at all. There are far better hotels in London, and I wouldn’t stay here again. Also I don’t know who designed the bathroom, but they randomly have a blue sink in there, just strange.

The hotel is in good condition, despite the mishap that has befallen the glass above the front door. It feels refined, it’s light, it’s airy, it’s clean. There are good facilities for a city break, but not somewhere I’d recommend for children. For those of us without children it’s a professional feeling hotel, with a superb mezzanine workspace to put in a morning’s work before meetings and a nice restaurant & bar on the ground floor. The rooms are stylish, comfortable and well appointed. They’re very technological, with touch panels and remote control access rather than the usual switches. The only issue found was a lack of Air-Conditioning, which, on the hottest day of the year was a little troublesome. Still, this issue was eventually fixed and we were able to cool down - but find and report any issues before those Maintenance team members lock off for the evening or you’ll have to wait until the morning for a resolution! Overall, a fine hotel and one to return to when pickets feel deep, and opportunity presents.
