This was the worst hotel experience I've had in a decade. First night in the room it was too hot (75F/24C) and I clearly could not control the thermostat. I asked at the front desk the next morning for them to allow me to control my own room temp, they said they would (note, central control of thermostats is common in EU hotelsso you need to ask). I got back late that day and no change. The next evening around 9pm I asked them again. This started 4 hours of straight AC dropping the room temp to 62F/17C. SIX visits to the front desk and 4 hours later (1am) the AC stopped and a promise I could control my own thermostat. The heat wouldn't come on and I couldn't turn the fan off. The remainder of the stay nothing I did to the thermostat changed the temperature from around 68F/20C so I just gave up. The shower was only luke warm, but I didn't DARE ask the front desk after the AC debacle. The bed coverings are laughable. They are about 2" larger than the width of the bed. This might not have been an issue, except I was in a room with a bed smaller than a twin (think camp cot width). I sleep on my side, so I pretty much got to choose whether I wanted my butt or my knees out in the cold. When I was asked upon checkout whether I enjoyed my stay, I got embarassed looks and a quiet apology after relating the above story and that was it. No offer to credit, though a "maybe" they could credit me for my GBP20 room service scrambled eggs. Absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

We were given an awful basement room, where the bed is actually positioned under the main road outside. Barely any natural light. Did not sleep due to road noise. We were there on a night when they had a major electrical problem, our room had power fortunately, but we couldn’t didn’t have a working room key. I considered that a security issue! Only got a minor refund for the stay!
