The staff were universally friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a convenient position for Albert Dock and the walk into the city centre was not too bad. We decided to take a taxi back to the hotel from the city centre, as we were tired and that was not too expensive at £4.30. The room was quite compact but clean and the shower room was good. There was no view from the window as we would have needed a ladder to see out of it. The breakfast was OK but not much choice. I decided not to have the cooked breakfast after the first morning, as the scrambled egg was burnt and the bacon was either underdone or hard. There was not much choice on the evening menu but the staff were very helpful and we ordered a very good Indian meal from a local takeaway, using Just Eat. The room was not made up every day, but that was fine. On the plus side, there was a carpark underneath the hotel which was £20 a day but not many hotels had this facility. On the whole, this was a good place to stay, if you were on a budget and just wanted somewhere convenient to stay. There did not seem to be any local buses, so it was a case of walk or take a taxi.
