Secluded Lakefront Natural Retreat Centered near attractions, Perfect Fall color

You are in the deep and wild woods of the Pure U P at the end of a 6.2 mile long trail. Wake up to the sound of Whippoorwills and other critters in this secluded log cabin tucked privately away on its own lake and centered near most all the U.P. Attractions!!

Sit on the dock all by yourself and listen to the loons or watch the bass jump for a fly with a backdrop of a blazing sunset. Stir lake water on the camp fire, take a warm shower and crawl into your sleeping bag and nuggle your favorite pillow.... just Imagine...no one's going to bug you, no phone calls, and no hassles.... all day long with just you by yourself or with friends and family with no Wifi unless you travel back to the highway. This is Da U P!!! Awwww....

You could just push the row boat or canoe into the water and try your luck at our trophy size brook trout, (hard to catch) small mouth bass (super fun to catch) or delicious perch (easy to catch).

Maybe spend a day in Grand Marais and fish the pier for lake trout or just go play on the shoreline of Lake Superior and search for Yooper Rocks, stones or agates. Don't forget to try some specialty beers and great food while you are in town and go shopping in their little tourist shops.

You could drive into Seney for a burger or you could decide to enjoy your own on the grill, inside the screened-in porch, sitting in a rocking chair, and over-looking the lake with your nose in a good book. It is your choice. It is time to drop everything and get away from it all. ATV's are welcome, we have miles and miles of trails to explore lakes and wild areas. Bring fishing, or hunting gear, target practice with your bow or not.

With fabulous sunsets around a bonfire, you can watch deer swim near and hear the night sounds under the bright starry dark sky!

The cabin is centered within easy driving distance to most U.P. tourist attractions including Pictured Rocks, many water falls, Mackinac Island, Soo Locks, Seney Wildlife Preserve, White Fish Point, the Two-Hearted River, and numerous Light-Houses, etc...

3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 comfortably. Large screened porch, sandy beach, clear spring-fed lake great for swimming. There is a row boat and canoe on site with life jackets but bring extras to assure a better fit. It is the only cabin on the lake, and for miles with nothing but trails, trails and more trails leading all over the Upper Peninsula.

The famous Seney National Wildlife Refuge (20 minutes) is a great place to spend a day hiking, canoeing, and animal watching. ATV rentals are in Seney if you are seeking adventure and exploration on all the trails surrounding the cabin. Grand Marais with it's speciality restaurants, is 30 minutes away with Lake Superior shoreline awaiting the agate rock hounds, sun-bathers, and boaters. Pictured Rocks are an hour away!

This is a vacation designation for families, honeymooners, couples, fishermen, hunters, lady retreats, or just about anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life who may experience a mouse in the house. The six mile long trail to this cabin is best driven with an SUV or other 4 wheel drive but mini vans do quite fine. The drive can be confusing at night, so please plan on coming in the daytime and enjoy the wilderness scenery on your way in!

The cabin is generator ran but power is stored in a bank of batteries and only turns on when they need recharged. It feels like a normal house with electricity with all the modern appliances for your convenience.
With many returning guests, your vacation promises to be one of the U P's Best. Clean & Affordable.

Excellent getaway cabin!
This cabin is beautifully positioned on Fred Dutch Lake. Very private. From the highway (M77) it will take you about 45 mins to travel the 6.6 miles back to the cabin with a capable 4WD vehicle. But it’s worth the trek! Every amenity! Row boat and a canoe with a dock. Generator power provides everything you need

Secluded and amazing.
This little cabin was fantastic, even for just a couple. Every detail was perfect. Anything one could need was right there in the cabin- making things so easy and stress free. The lake was beautiful, from sunrise to sunset. It was so nice to be truely alone, like stepping back in time. We relaxed, read books, had bonfires, star gazed, and BBQed! It was really such a perfect family place- we felt guilty leaving the kids with grandma for our anniversary trip. We will be back and will be bringing the kids in the future for sure. I made sure to download the local maps before we left because even with Verizon there was barely any service. It was easy to find- and Dale was very helpful and a great host. Thank you again Dale!!! 😊

mouse infested
Walked into the property to find mouse feces on the kitchen table, kitchen counters, sink, on the floor, including all the bedrooms. Texted the owner, no reply. Called the owner and she said there should be Clorox wipes in the house to clean it up. We chose to leave. She would not respond to texts or phone calls. It was an incredibly disappointing experience.

Family Vacation with lots of seclusion
This was a fantastic cabin to stay in and I'm glad we chose this one. Our plan was to go to a place where we would have the area to ourselves for the most part with little or no distractions and this is exactly the place for it! The cabin has everything you need to enjoy yourself, including all the amenities for cooking, as well as comfy beds and a canoe & rowboat for enjoyment in the lake. The lake is a decent size, but easy to manage in the canoe or rowboat. My wife brought her SUP and it was easy for her to navigate around the perimeter of the lake on leisurely trips several times. There are plenty of large mouth bass in the lake and they are easy to catch from the boat/canoe, or even right off the dock in the evening. We had several days of fishing success. We only saw 1 other boat use the lake the evening of our arrival (Sunday) and the following Saturday evening & Sunday morning. There is a public boat lunch on the lake to the south of the cabin, but it is hardly used. The access road into the cabin may seem daunting, but it's not difficult to navigate. I was pulling a 5x8 trailer and had no issues. We only saw a few people on the road during our few times in and out. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. You can stay and not leave until you departure if you wish, as there are plenty of trails to hike and a lake right at the end of the dock. I would definitely return to this cabin in the future and highly recommend it.

Perfect Stay
We had a great time at the cabin. The owners called me back immediately when I had a question a few days before my arrival. There is a lot of refrigerator space. The kitchen is very well equipped. I like the screened porch for when it’s buggy. We caught lots of fish. Everything in the cabin was in good working order. Lots of people like to talk about the road into the cabin, but it is in fairly good shape. Just drive slowly and enjoy the nature. We would definitely stay here again. 5+ rating😁

Relaxing
Our trip was very tranquil and relaxing . There were many tour attractions near the cabin that we went to and saw. The cabin is a ways from the main road but we liked it that way only seeing a handful of people on the lake the whole week. We had fun fishing and caught some bass that we let go so the next guest could enjoy to catch. Dale and Mike were very friendly and helpful they guided us on places to see and answered any questions we had.

Great time in the UP. Second time staying at the cabin. Went on many adventures on our RZR side by side. Great fishing got a couple bass. Probably the most quiet place I've ever been. Spotted quite a few deer on the road to the property. Fall colors were amazing. Great location to go to nearby towns during the week we stayed.

This cabin was awesome. Exactly as listed. If you're looking for a beautiful, private setting right on a lake, off the grid, this is the place. Deep, deep in the woods, but with all the amenities of home. Fishing, blueberry picking, wildlife abound. This place is beautiful. The property owners were very nice and responsive. Easy check in, no issues. This place would be gorgeous in the fall.

This place is a WOW!
I rarely leave reviews but this place really stole our hearts. The driveway was a bit intimidating at first but Dale's instructions took us right to it. After the first time, it was simple and it felt like coming home each afternoon. We went to several awesome places within an hour including waterfalls, bear camp, beaches and several others. But our favorite place was the cabin. We made sure we were home for the AMAZING sunsets each night. Sometimes we would enjoy from the dock and sometimes from a romantic evening on the rowboat. The ATV trails were fun and we agreed that we will get one for the whole week next time instead of two days. We caught multiple meal size small mouth bass but released for some others to enjoy in the future. There are some big fish on this lake! The quiet sounds of nature were so relaxing. Had a camp fire every night we were there. It was great for our family including teenage sons to disconnect from technology. To my delight, they didn't mind at all and we immensely enjoyed our family activities and reconnecting without distractions. I can not say enough about this place and the gracious and helpful hosts. We will be back without a doubt!

A great cabin
We sat out with a bonfire looking at the stars each night, we even saw the northern lights! We heard a wolf howl in the distance and the kids loved looking for bear and wolf prints on the road to the cabin. They were also kept busy fishing and playing with the row boat and canoe. The lake is wonderful and clean Your directions need a bit of refining! For those reading, just follow the boat launch signs all the way until the end. The cabin is one turn away from the boat launch. It’s a long and dusty 6.5 miles to the cabin but well worth it. Once back on the actual highway it was an easy drive to many attractions.

Amazing!!!
We loved everything about our stay! We were a little nervous about the road in, but we came to love the trek in and out each day on our way to and from Pictured Rocks. Our son called it “the longest drive way of all time” because you don’t pass a single house on the way. The cabin was incredibly clean and well appointed. The lake was perfect - quiet, clean, and stunning in every type of weather. We took the row boat out a few times and our son loved sitting on the small dock watching tadpoles and fish. We saw one other row boat with two fishermen the entire week we were there. The grill on the screened in porch is fantastic. I loved sitting on the porch drinking my tea in the morning listening to the birds. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

We loved our stay at the cabin! The fishing was great, we caught a lot of perch and few small mouth bass too. The cabin is very secluded, you really do get away, it was so peaceful. We did a few day trips and the cabin was right in the middle so about an hour drive to wherever we were going. We ended every night out at the campfire laughing and playing games. Blueberries were in season and we pick some for breakfast and a few to take home. They were so thick it looked like a patch of blue flowers. We truly enjoyed our UP experience and Dale was great to work with. We left some clothes up there and she is sending them back to us. Thank you again!!
