Blue Mountain Log Cabin

Endearing log cabin, perfect for anyone looking to getaway. Nestled on five, beautiful acres of land at an altitude of 1800 feet just minutes walk from the Appalachian Trail and creek; and just minutes drive from nearest winery.

Rustic, authentic, Appalachian style log cabin with vaulted ceilings, loft, pot belly wood stove, and three quaint bedrooms: Master (queen) bedroom has own bathroom with large claw foot tub and separate shower. Second bedroom (king) is a huge inviting loft with bright skylights and sliding barn door for privacy. Third bedroom (full) is simple, but cozy. Kitchen has everything you need for your stay including pots, pans, utensils, blender, toaster, coffee pot and more. Back deck overlooks open acre of gently sloping land.

You will want to see this place in every season: Spring brings stunning colors from Forsythia, Red Buds, wild Lillies, and the native mountain flower, Trillium. Experience the dense mountain fog and the nearby peaceful streams and creeks! Our cabin is surrounded by beautiful, enormous poplar trees full of character and shade to complement the cool mountain breeze. Summers on the mountain are an escape from the hot city and are noticeably cooler as you drive up the mountain. Find a hammock and let yourself relax. Winters offer unusual snowfall compared to the bottom of the mountain. In the winter you can watch the sunrise through the trees from the deck or just let the amber light shine through the cabin windows and make a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, bring your favorite book and get cozy next to the pot belly wood stove!

Fox Meadow is conveniently only a few miles away and offers a stunning view from their open deck or tasting room. Chester Gap will exceed your expectations with a great selection of wine, cozy tasting room, friendly atmosphere, and unparalleled view of the gap in Front Royal. Front Royal Brewery offers great food, live music, and of course, great beer inspired by the local community flavor. Stop on your way up the mountain at The Giving Tree and pick up some last minute items; fresh bread, wine, local produce, milk and eggs. Locals rave about The Apple House. Visit Shenandoah National Park, less than a half hour away. Explore the nearby caverns or Shenandoah River by kayak, just 20 minutes away. Take in the views from Skyline Drive within a beautiful 30 minute drive from the property. There is so much more to see and do. Book with us and come see what this charming area has to offer!
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Peaceful
A very quiet and relaxing stay. Loved going for walks with my dog and not seeing another person or car around. Could use a new shower curtain as it had mildew on the bottom which was gross. Towels are quite thin. Bring soap for the shower. Kitchen has all the essentials. Couches and beds are comfy. Enough blankets for a cozy sleep. Overall a great stay and would recommend this house to others.

Weekin the woods
This is a great property for getting away from it all. The cabin is roomy and there is not another building in sight. Very peaceful surroundings. The picture of the loft room, does not do it justice, the room is larger than it appears in the picture. The place was spotless. The host gave us some recommendations for local dining and shopping, and even a complimentary bottle of wine, from the local vineyard. Definitely the perfect place for a relaxing get away.

Feels like "coming home"
This is now the 4th time we have rented this property! We LOVE it so much! The property is well maintained, clean, and homey. And the owners are very responsive to questions that may arise while staying (... like if you get lost finding a trail :) ). It is a perfect place to unplug (though they have everything necessary to stay plugged in if you want to) and enjoy a tranquil setting for reading, playing games, bonfires, hiking, and naps!

Perfect secluded cabin!
This cabin is well equipped for everything you would need for a fabulous woods get away. The owners are totally responsive and helpful. The porches were our favorite place to sit and chat or listen to nature. Front Royal was a fun day trip with its cute Main Street of shops and food/drink spots. We hope to return again some day.

Piedmont Classic
We loved the cabin!! We were there for the Piedmont Classic to watch our Granddaughter compete. The location was perfect to come back to after the day to rest and relax. The owners were great!! Anytime we had a question they answered very promptly and always ended with if there is anything else we can help with please let us know. They even congratulated us on our granddaughter making it to the Piedmont classic. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a very quiet, comfortable place to relax and enjoy nature

Treated ourselves to weekend in the country!
Among the many excellent parts of our weekend were: hiking the Appalachian Trail (twice), waking up to amazing bird songs on a foggy morning, and apple donuts at a nearby-ish family run restaurant. A perfect combo of tranquility and activity for family including one 12-yr old kid and two dogs. We all loved it.

Well maintained and cozy
The cabin is adorable, well maintained and quite cozy. The cabin is surrounded by several acres of cleared land, where my dogs enjoyed running, playing ball and chasing each other. There was a cold spell while I was at the cabin and was impressed - the flooring was warm and the bedding was light-weight, yet kept me nice and warm. Coming from Florida, I appreciated that the house was very well insulated. The kitchen has high-end appliances and quality pots and pans. It is a very nice kitchen. Under "Location and Neighborhood" I only gave the rating of 3. The neighborhood is awesome and all neighbors are friendly and helpful. The 3 is because of the location. The cabin was MUCH deeper in the woods than I imagined, roads much worse and GPS was often confused! I do recommend this property for folks looking for a nice vacation. Kevin and Rebecca were easy to contact and quick to respond to things that popped up.

Beautiful Cabin in a Gorgeous Setting!!
My Mom, sister and I just spent the weekend at this property for a girls weekend. We absolutely LOVED the cabin. The cabin itself is beautiful with everything you'd need/want. And the grounds are vast and SPECTACULAR. We loved having coffee and breakfast outside on the deck surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature, sitting on the swing on the front porch, building a bonfire in the bonfire pit, watching a movie each night on the large screen TV curled up on the comfy leather couches under the blankets provided (and choosing from the over hundred DVD choices at the cabin), cooking dinner in the fully stocked kitchen, and just generally being in a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous natural setting. We also loved that the cabin was a short 30 minute drive from the Front Royal entrance of Shenandoah National Park. And the hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive. The last 15 minutes of the drive to the cabin is on an unpaved road but the destination of this cabin is absolutely worth it! Thanks Kevin and Rebekah for a very special weekend!

The home was gorgeous – even prettier than we expected! Everything was well-maintained and super-clean. There were some welcoming touches that made this home even that much more special. The open floor plan in the living/dining/kitchen area provided a great space for our family to enjoy quality time together. Kevin and Rebekah were so responsive to all of our messages before, during, and after our stay. Thank you so much!!

Don’t Wait…JUST BOOK IT!
This special little cabin, tucked away in the woods was the perfect little getaway for my husband’s birthday! Check-in was easy, the cabin is exactly what is portrayed in the pictures, top notch when it comes to cleanliness, the outside yard is beautiful, and the owners are so fabulous in making sure you have everything to make your stay complete! We had such a good time playing with our dogs in the yard, drinking wine on the porch, and taking in some of their suggested points of interest in the area! Do go get yourself some delicious donuts from The Apple House, hit up the farmers market at the end of the road for some delicious tomatoes, and take in an amazing view and good wine tasting at Fox Meadow Winery! Thanks for opening up your home to us, Rebekah and Kevin. We’ll be back for a longer stay next time!
