Great stay at Norton Pond
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. There was more than enough space for our family of three, and room for a few more if needed. The pond was great for swimming and taking out the canoe. The house was well appointed and lovingly maintained with just the necessities needed for our week long stay. The location was in close proximity to Camden (10-15 minute drive), and a lot of other must see destinations in Maine (Acadia, Bar Harbor, etc) are within 60-90 minutes. There was a sailing camp in the pond the week we were there and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing the kids as they tried to keep their boats upright throughout the week. It was a perfect blend of peaceful/private but also not so isolated that you feel alone in the wilderness. Just right for us, and we hope to make it back sometime soon.

Charming stay on the lake
Overall a great stay for the family. The house was a perfect size for our family of 4 and appeared to be relatively well maintained with the right amount of old rustic charm. The lake water was a perfect temperature for swimming and the small stream adjacent to the property provided soothing nighttime sounds in the 2nd bedroom. Two minor complaints: 1. There was a musty odor in the 2nd bedroom (with the twin beds) that appeared to be coming from the carpet. 2. While the kitchen cabinets were packed with "stuff" the selection of the basics (i.e. pots and pans) was very limited. Many of the kitchen items were worn or of poor quality. (i.e, the kitchen knives were dull and flimsy). The kitchen could go for a reorgnization and cleanout/replacement of old and worn items. However, those were minor issues to the overall experience and we would stay again.
