BEWARE
I have never booked or stayed in a property that 1) didn’t have a reception desk with staff onsite 2) offered free wifi but no air-conditioning and never stated that in any materials 3) gives no support from the company to resolve the problems (yes, that’s YOU Hotels.com). I booked this hotel because it was close to the train station and one of our group was injured and on crutches. Imagine our shock when we had to call the owner of the property to be let in, even though I had arranged the arrival time as requested in an email. This property is a disaster and though it may be alright for some, it wasn’t at all acceptable for 3 elderly women, one of whom was injured. I am trying to dispute the charge to my credit card as I cannot get any satisfaction from the company.

Very clean, modern rooms, with lovely bed, and a decent breakfast offered. One issue was that I couldn't get wi-fi connection - but I arrived late & left early so didnt have a chance to enquire about it.

Hotel les Benedictins
Hotel les Benedictins was a pleasant enough place to stay. It was very convenient - being across the street from the train station. It was quiet despite the location. The extra cost breakfast was good, too. I had only two complaints - both minor. One was that I wasn’t advised of WiFi access until the morning after my arrival and the other was that the shower was out of soap. Overall a pleasant place to stay and I would stay there again.

A lovely place to stay
Stayed one night at Hôtel Les Bénédictins and it was fantastic. The hotel is easy to find, as you exit the train straight take the stairs down to the right and over the road. It's opposite the glass bus stops. We had to call the owner when we arrived (around midday), but he was inside and opened up for us. He offered us room 1, which was right at the entrance and had a very comfortable double bed and huge bathroom. The owner spoke a little English, but we conversed in French. Breakfast was offered for an addition €6, however we decided to get food from the central market as we had an early train journey the next day. Everything was spotlessly clean, wifi was good. Nothing to complain about. The town centre is a 10-15 minute walk away, through the park opposite and down the roads. It's lovely to wander through with many historic buildings and nice shops. Lots of nice places to eat as well. We also took the bus (No.12 - not a local bus, more of a coach) to Oradour-sur-Glane, which departs from the train station.

Location is reasonably close to old town and restaurants, but parking is a bit hit and miss. Parking in street up from hotel is free if you can get a spot, otherwise the are parking areas opposite which need to be paid for a machines. Room was fairly small but bed was comfortable. No kettle or safe though and Wi-fi was very poor. Breakfast was basic continental with not much choice.

Simple hotel in a convenient position.
There was a warm welcome from the owner, who also runs the Bar Tabac next door. There is a small breakfast room with a lounge area. This is a simple, basic hotel but the room was quite large, with a desk and nice TV, and a nice ensuite with a shower rather than a bath. Breakfast was bread & jam, pastries, orange juice, cereal, yogurt, coffee/tea/hot chocolate. When I left, the owner kindly called me a taxi to the airport. I walked as far as the cathedral and botanical gardens, and on the way is the picturesque old town with lots of interesting shops and restaurants, and a couple of museums, fine arts and a Resistance museum. (Avoid the creperie by the cathedral - all the tables around me seemed to be waiting for ages and I gave up & walked away in the end.) Beyond Galleries Lafayette are the big shops. Limoges is a big city but I felt that staying in this hotel enabled me to walk to all the places I wanted to see.

Not recommended. Should be removed from the site.
Hotel was closed and locked when we arrived. All the windows were shuttered and the lights were off. There were other guests standing out front looking confused as well. We tried calling the number on the front of the building but did not get an answer. The other guests (French) kept calling and got an answer then a subsequent opening of the front door of the hotel by a woman who seemed very irritated. We were told by the woman at the door (who was peeking out of it, not inviting us in) that she had no reservations on the books and had received no money for the rooms. She did brusquely and reluctantly say that there were rooms availabe but we were expected to pay for them. No way I was going to pay again for a room I had already paid for. Besides that, it was a very uncomfortable situation and we were not willing to stay in a hotel that five minutes before was completely shuttered. The hotel has charged my credit card for a night's stay so I will have to dispute the charge. Furthermore I am very unhappy with Cheaptickets for how they handled my customer service call regarding this situation. I had to pay $2 a minute to speak to a representative who put me on hold three times (even Ayer I repeatedly told her that I needed to expedite the call due to international roaming fees) only to tell me that I would have to call the hotel myself and ask for a refund. The hotel has multiple names and even online listings show it to be closed. Very stressful situation for a weary traveler.

Nice small efficient. Near the train/bus station. No one spoke English but it went well. I think they had breakfast a little early for us at 6:30. Would stay there again. We were there to catch a bus to Oradour and was very convenient.

Simple, clean and friendly hotel.
Hotel Les Benedictins is a comfortable, clean and friendly hotel within easy reach of all the amenities and sights of Limoges. The owners were friendly and accommodating. There's a neighbourhood bar that is part of the hotel, which was a great place to have a coffee, beer and relax. The hotel is convenient for the train station, and despite the proximity the rooms are very quiet. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a simple, reasonably priced room to stay in - which are very clean and comfortable - which is within easy reach of the transport links as well as the town.

AVOID.
The rooms were dirty and outdated, making for an uncomfortable stay. To add to the disappointment, the prices were unreasonably high for the quality offered. Requesting an invoice at the reception proved to be an unnecessary hassle, as the staff seemed uninterested. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel.

Séjour catastrophique, il faisait très chaud dans la chambre, plus chaud a l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur, pas de clim mais c'était prévu. J'ai essayé d'ouvrir la fenêtre pour aérer et avoir un minimum de fraicheur, et il n'y avait pas de volet ! J'ai eu le droit a une magnifique vu sur le lampadaire de la rue situé juste en face de la fenêtre, avec le bruit de la gare, j'ai sûrement passé une des pires nuit de ma vie haha Tout le sol était taché ( je ne veux pas savoir ce que c'était, la couleur m'a suffit ), la salle de bain n'a pas non plus de volet, et donné sur la fenêtre du bâtiment d'en face, sans rideau occultant. Le seul point " positif", c'est que la douche est correct quand elle ne change pas de température sans raison toutes les 2 minutes. Bref un vrai calvaire, je ne recommande pas du tout.

Évidemment, excellente situation pour qui doit prendre le train. Ma chambre, très propre, mansardée, ne pouvait pas être rafraîchie par une petite tabatière. Télévision mal réglée. Petit déjeuner assez cher par rapport à sa médiocrité. La réception coïncide avec le bar accolé et avec ses horaires, cela complique donc la mise en consigne d’un bagage, pendant les heures qui précèdent ou suivent le séjour. J’ai constaté néanmoins, de ce côté, une certaine bonne volonté.
