Friendly "homestay" experience
I stayed 3 nights at this hostel and would recommend it both to those who need a place to stay in Lima before/after a flight, as well as to independent travelers who want to experience a part of Lima that's off the tourist track. The experience was more like a homestay than a typical backpacker's hostel. It's located in a residential neighborhood near a park, yet still walking distance from stores and restaurants. The owner, Dajana (pronounced Dayana) speaks excellent English and was very helpful, not only arranging for airport transfers and making breakfast but also providing all the local info we needed re: restaurants, transportation, laundry, etc -- plus she even gave us great advice on hiking outside the city. My friends and I stayed in a private, comfortable room with one double and two bunk beds, a small kitchen area, and a private bath.
