Cosy, comfy and quiet b&b close to town
We had a lovely stay at Sonja’s - we stayed in a miners suite which had parking right outside, there was a separate kitchenette with the essentials to make a light breakfast and prepare lunch. The bedroom was well appointed with dresser type space to keep our toiletries out of the small bathroom plus medications etc. The aircon was a bit noisy but efficient in the summer heat. The only thing is there wasn’t a PowerPoint on both sides of the bed, so I charged my phone in the kitchen. Insect repellent and tourism guides were supplied in the foyer. We didn’t get to meet the hosts but they were readily available by phone, if needed.

We booked two rooms , butterfly room for the kids and miners room for us . Rooms were great as advertised , nice area to have breakfast with the kids out the back and good kitchen facilities for a basic breakfast .

My husband and I had a really enjoyable stay. It was nice that we had the back little cottage with its facilities. Shaun was excellent. Helpful with information and offering to help where we needed it. Provided an excellent breakfast with healthy options. Karen

The sign at the office door says "Authentic, reliable, trustworthy". That's true - it's a pleasure to stay at Shaun's property. I had lovely breakfasts, wifi, somewhere to dry my swimsuit, my vehicle was safe in the yard, I had privacy. It is an old house, so the walls are a little thin and the floors a little creaky. Instead of a DVD player, it's time to upgrade the TVs to ones to which can stream our phones. I'll be back soon

My husband and I stayed at the back of the property in “ the shed”. I was pleasantly surprised how spacious it was- a separate kitchen, laundry, dining area, lounge with 2 very comfortable sofas and the bedroom area had an amazingly comfortable bed. The bathroom was a small wet room, it was winter so this was cold , didn’t spend much time in there! The rest of the space was warm and cosy. Very peaceful and quiet with parking off street. Shaun was a wonderful host, giving ideas on what to do and served great breakfast and catered well for me being a vegetarian. Would happily stay here again.

Lightning Ridge Stay
received a text message with full details of check-in & access to the room. Opal Suite had a kitchenette, double bed , separate bathroom with shower & toilet, Parking was out the front ( could be tight for larger vehicles) . Room was clean & comfortable. Quiet area . There are BBQ facilities at the rear of the property but I had no need to use them. Main street of Lightning Ridge is a few minutes drive or about 15-20 minute walk. Sonjas Bed & Breakfast was comfortable & suitable for my visit to Lightning Ridge.
