"We had a wonderful time staying at Maria Rosa’s as a family of 6 with 4 kids 11 & younger. It was a great price & had everything we needed for a week long stay. It was a nice place to use as a home base for exploring the area of Umbria (Don’t miss Assisi! It is amazing!) There was a well loved pool table & foosball table that our kids greatly enjoyed. We were able to cook with all the pots & pans we needed & the water was hot for showers. Keep in mind you definitely need a car & this is a well loved & well lived in flat so you get what you pay for which we were grateful for. Our highlight was walking up the road & watching the sun rise! The pool looked like it would be enjoyable if you stayed during the hot season, we missed out on that but stayed cozy with the wall heaters instead. If you are looking for a space to make a home base during your exploration of Umbria & also love the peace & beauty of being nestled in olive groves, this is it! Thanks Maria Rosa! "

"Villa Pambufetti is in a great location. Just a few minutes walk to the walls of Montefalco so very easy to walk into the village for dinner. If, like us, an air conditioned room is essential then I suggest you call the hotel prior to your visit to make sure it is working. We booked a superior room for 2 nights but the ac wasn’t working and when we asked to move room we were told there wasn’t any air conditioning in the hotel. Although on hotels.com it said that the hotel did have ac. We were moved to a tiny room in the guesthouse which had ac of sorts for the first night, then a much larger room in the guesthouse for the second night which had much better ac. The owner gave us a reduction in the rate we paid as a result, which we thought was very fair. The hotel has lots of character but really needs some updating, particularly in the bathrooms."

"Great property in the middle of a vineyard and olive tree orrchard. Really unique property that had fabulous views. We were there in mid-April and the weather was cool & rainy, but it was still enchanting. The on-site property mgr., Geanine(sp?) was very helpful and friendly. Only issue I had with the property was that the kitchen was large and inviting, but there was not much in the way of utensils. I don't know if prior guests had taken some with them, but not easy to cook with no tongs etc. That is nit-picking, because we would have loved to had stay there much longer. And, we're considering returning for a longer stay. The location is perfect for visiting Umbrian hill towns as well as the great vineyards of the Montefalco wine region. Definitely make some reservations at the local wineries for tours/tasting. There were six of us (parents, two children with their respective spouses). I could definitely see renting out the entire property for a week. I'm not sure how many folks you can lodge there, but would be probably around 20 or more comfortably. Would be great extended family retreat."
