About this space
For the outdoor enthusiast.
The perfect place to capture or recapture tranquility, completely off grid, we take pride in being free from WI FI. Unplugged, our forest house has a cozy, comfortable and unique ambiance.
A cozy reading loft with a take one leave one book case. A cribbage board, cards and dice. Ultimate space for artists, writers, musicians and those seeking glamorous solitude and forest healing.
Guest should be experienced and comfortable with forest surroundings.
No children.
The space
There is no wifi in the forest.
Our unique little house is filled with artisan love and conversation pieces.
An open concept space with brightness of windows everywhere you look. A perfectly peaceful opening with a feel of being hugged by the forest.
A hot shower in the house, a cold fresh rain water shower outside, and a boardwalk to the outside privy.
An ice box that will keep cold for 48 to 56 hours.
Guest access
The house sits on about 5 acres of forest. The house and space is all yours during your stay. Parking is off the dirt road and about 200 meters from the forest house. We use our UTV to get to and from the forest house and are more than happy to carry your belongings in and back out for your convenience. Barbers lake is situated across from the main house (a ten minute walk). A canoe and life jackets are accessible anytime during your stay.
Other things to note
We are working on creating more walking paths. This is brand a new creation for us. This year I hope grow some vegetables for our guests to enjoy during harvest season.
You can gather dead limbs from the forest floor, or purchase wood for the fire pit. Township fire status will be posted on the property.
In the house the tiny wood stove works nicely to take the dampness and chill off.
It would be beneficial to be familiar with operation of a wood stove.
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, which has a kitchenette. Conveniences include a refrigerator and a coffee/tea maker.

A retreat of rest
Judy has put together a very thoughtful bunkie that’s brimming with character. It's cozy and inviting, temporarily making the world a smaller place for you to relax and live worry-free. There were few mosquitos while I was there. I noticed instead more bees, butterflies, and dragonflies (which eat mosquitos to my knowledge). There were also plenty of frogs and a few hummingbirds that frequented the feed. To cook, there's a small gas stove and also a BBQ. The gas stove is in the kitchenette that's supplied with coffee, tea, seasonings, oil, sugar, etc. Things to do: Campfire, sauna, outdoor cold shower (this was hard to commit to but very alleviating), cutting wood, reading & writing on patio or in the gazebo, canoeing, walking in the forest, foraging. I had a wonderful time. This is definitely worthwhile if you're used to the city and have been feeling overstimulated and stressed.

World’s Best Bunkie
Judy’s place is such a gem. The pictures don’t touch how perfect it is. There’s so much natural light, natural elements, and thoughtful details throughout. Outside, the hummingbirds flit about while the bunnies munch on the clover. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to my parents. Thanks Judy!
