We want you to feel at home in our peaceful forest cabin. The extent of our interaction is up to you, but we and/or our housekeeper will be available as needed to field questions or troubleshoot. We'll send you our house manual prior to your arrival, so you will know exactly what to expect.
For your convenience we have provided a video playlist that is jam packed with information and tutorials that will be your go-to for all questions and how-tos around the house. We recommend that you pre-download this playlist to your YouTube app, just in case, for example, the power goes out, you will have a guide to potentially get it back on.
You can find this linked in the document we send over to you prior to check in.
Of course, if you need further assistance please contact us through the Airbnb app. We keep all communication on the app.
The Treehouse is on a gated road, where there are only 3 other houses on the lane. You’ll feel at one with nature as you sit out the deck and see only trees (and maybe a deer or two) between you and Shasta Lake.
Driving to The Treehouse is simple - we aren’t far off of I-5. There is plenty of space to park your vehicles and if you need boat parking, please contact us for specific arrangements. There isn’t any public transportation that can get you here.
Managing Expectations:
The "Treehouse" is a wonderfully peaceful cabin retreat, a place to come and relax and enjoy nature. The location is beautiful, quiet, and somewhat remote. There is limited-no cell service.
We do miraculously have internet in the middle of the forest! But, because of our remote location, don’t expect supersonic speeds. Things should load, but just may take a bit longer than you are used to. You came to the forest to get away from it all anyways, right? :)
Also, please keep in mind you will be in the forest, sharing a surrounding space with beautiful wildlife, birds and insects of many kinds.
Additional House Rule:
To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, please be aware of the following policies:
1. Unauthorized Events or Parties:
-Guests are strictly prohibited from hosting parties or unauthorized events during their reservation.
-Any violation of this policy will result in a penalty charge of $500.
2. No Smoking Policy:
-Smoking is not permitted within the premises, including rooms, common areas, and balconies.
-Any evidence of smoking within the property will result in a penalty charge of $500.
3. Unauthorized late check outs or extension
- Guests are not allowed to stay beyond their check out time unless authorized in advance.
- Any unauthorized late check out, we will charge a late check out fee of $200.
4. Refundable Security Deposit
-We will pre-authorize a $500 security deposit on your card one day prior to your check-in. Please note, this is not a charge but a temporary hold. The deposit will be refunded within 7 days after check-out, provided there are no damages, missing items, or violations of our house rules.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these rules. These guidelines are in place to maintain a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all guests.
For entertainment, please note:
We don’t have a smart TV, but our TV is connected to a DVD player - you can always bring a DVD of your choice. Or you can pre-download some movies and connect your laptop via HDMI cable, please make sure to bring your own HDMI cable and an adaptor (if you use a Macbook).
Please note that the Apple TV is no longer available.
- The deck is a fun place to hang out, but it’s very high up, so obviously no climbing and children should be supervised to ensure their safety.
- The forest is as fragile as it is breathtaking. Leave it better than you found it :) Be mindful of your footprint, and please do your part to respect and preserve this special place. Don't harm the trees, dump waste, litter, or burn anything.
- We ask that you keep your kitchen waste inside as much as possible. This is because of the local bear population and their messy habit of knocking over garbage cans and dragging bags down the hill.
- As the registered guest, you're required to share all of the above information (and all information in the house manual) with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay.
- For security, we have cameras mounted facing the side of the house and the driveway. If you're uncomfortable with this, please get in touch before your booking so that we can make an alternative arrangement.
- If you're new to Airbnb or have fewer than two positive reviews, you'll have to send a request to book our cabin. You can make it easy for us to approve your request by introducing yourself, telling us who you're bringing along and assuring us that you've read these house rules.
