We stayed at this property a few years ago, but the quality seems to have gone down. The bed was comfortable enough and served its purpose, but the hotel left a lot to be desired. I'm not really talking about cleanliness - it was okay in that department, and the staff was clearly out working to tidy things. The curtains need to be fixed. They're kind of pinned up but come off their track whenever opened or closed. My husband hooked up the Switch to the TV and discovered that the mini fridge is plugged into an adaptor which is on an extension chord behind the dresser/tv stand. This is very dangerous! The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance, which was a huge disappointment for my kiddo. The biggest issue of all was the length of the shower curtain. It wasn't long enough and dangled a couple inches above the tub! The water ran out and puddled all over the floor. This is one of the most affordable hotels in the area, but I will spend more money for a better experience elsewhere next time.

Licensed to operate as “Roadway” but promotes itself as “Rodeway” this place needs a visit from the health department and whichever authority allows it to operate. Very run down, stained carpets, smelly hallways, sheets/towels felt damp and smelt musty, shower/sink didn’t drain properly, slow inefficient staff at check-in, ‘continental breakfast’ was water/OJ/coffee/bread and a pancake machine that doesn’t work —- right beside the open laundry room which is disgusting for a guest to see. I shudder to think what the “pool/spa” are about.

We'll Skip This One Next Time Through
Well, it had a couple beds, few pillows and linens- which for one night is fine. It would have been nice to have more than one thin blanket, but we didn't want to press our luck. We're glad we only spent one night on our way through town. The decor is definitely recycled from the early 90's, which shouldn't be necessary to mention, other than the fact that it all literally feels, and smells, nearly 35 years old. Most things at first glance "appeared" clean, until we found the moldy shower curtain, at which point we stopped looking. I know that in a place like Lake Placid, you get what you pay for. We were hoping that being a bit "off season" that we could get away with a cheaper place for a quick night's sleep before we carried on. We did get a night's sleep, so with that being our only expectation, it was met. Oh, and the "breakfast" is more-or-less a 6-foot long credenza with, well, what you would expect to fit within a 6-foot long credenza- along with 12 other people scurrying for crumbs at the same time, in a space that maybe had room for 10 people if they were just standing there and not holding anything. Our stay was acceptable, even if disappointing and at best, "meh."

The property itself was not dirty but rundown. My shower did not drain and I have two boys with long hair. I spent a good chunk of each morning wilting for tithe tub to drain so I could clean it. Room service was non existent. We had to put our garbage out to be emptied and no bags were replaced. I was told by an unfriendly young girl at the front desk that they were completely out of towels when I requested clean ones. I had to request an extra roll of toilet paper as we ran out and again, no room service. The breakfast was so minimal it would not satisfy a child. The pool was clean and my son did enjoy swimming in it. We used the free trolley service to get into the main strip of Lake Placid which was very convenient. We would not choose to stay at this hotel in the future. The rest of the staff was friendly other that the young girl at the desk but it was not the best place I’ve ever stayed at.
