When you choose to rent our cabin, you help us support non-profits and give back to communities. We donate our home multiple weeks throughout the year to families in need.
Cairn Cabin is fully equipped and has space for couples or families to unwind and relax. Enjoy a fire pit, grill, and kayaks in the warm weather. Guests must transport kayaks on their own...we do provide tie-downs and foam pads. There is a game room on the ground level with a 55 inch HDTV (we have cable or you may access your Netflix, Hulu, etc), gas stove, ping pong table, puzzles, board games, DVDs, corn hole, and giant jenga! There is also a spare room dedicated as a space to store your gear out of the weather. Stash your bikes, skis, boots, or other toys and know they are safe and dry. Borrow our yoga mats and find your zen on one of two decks while you inhale the smell of fresh pine. The main floor has a gas fireplace for cozying up on a cold night, another Smart TV and bluetooth speaker for entertainment options. Need a book, we have many from which to choose. Get hooked...take the book with you for another day. Sit outside and listen to songbirds, take a walk on one of the community trails, or let go in a hammock with a good book. Lake Eaton is steps away for canoeing or fishing. The lake beach area also has space for wiffle ball, volleyball, tennis, or grilling, and we’ll leave you everything you need to get started. There are multiple nearby access spots to the Ausable River for world class fly-fishing opportunities. No matter the season, our cabin will put you near the center of what you want to do. **Our home may not be suitable for small/young children or toddlers because of the open wooden staircases between floors.**
This secluded cabin is surrounded by tall pines yet close to everything the Adirondacks have to offer. Catch some live music at the New Vida bar or Rudy's Bar and Grill! Enjoy breakfast and coffee at the Adirondack Mountain Cafe. Whiteface Mountain is right down the road for hiking and mountain biking when the weather is warm or skiing when the snow falls. Lake Placid is under 30 minutes south where you can browse the shops on Main Street and relive the history of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics with a ride down the bobsled track, a chairlift to the top of the ski jumps, ice skating, or a toboggan ride onto Mirror Lake. Ausable Chasm is 20 minutes north with rafting, tubing, rappelling, and rock climbing for the whole family. There are 46 high peaks over 4000 feet if you want to challenge your limits. There are 10 craft breweries within a forty-five minute drive!
