Our peaceful, quiet, relaxing little rural home was just given a complete “makeover: all new paint, ceilings, roofs, and “thoroughly cleananed/sanitized top to bottom! “Casa de Harlan” is on 1.5 acres of banana, avocado, plantain, and native trees, very lush green land, located on a paved road, with pleasing awesome views of the rural, agricultural countryside, and the distant Turrialba Volcano, (on the other side of the valley).
A sweet-sounding creek runs right next to our property, (the “new bridge” is only a stone’s throw from the attached garage), and a plethoric variety of birds will keep you entertained all day if you want, (“Rancho Naturalista” is only a few Kilometers up the road!)
You can take a walks, go hiking, or biking in any direction; (the village of “Las Colonias de La Suiza”, is only 200 yards away, has two “pulperias”, or grocery stores, a small community center next to “La Hermita de Las Colonias” Catholic Church, an elementary school, and a “Plaza de Fútball”!
Rental cars, Bus, taxi, Uber services make the Supermarkets, a High School, Restaurants & Bars, a Medical Clinic, Bank, etc., only a 5-10 trip to the town of La Suiza. [We’ve walked to La Suiza many, many times, and we often hired a local taxi to bring us (and groceries, or shopping items), back up the hill.]
CATIE is 15 minutes, and the City of Turrialba with a Hospital, vast shopping, The UCR, etc., are only a 20 drive, (or 30 minute bus ride?)
LOOK! The Pacific Ocean and/or Caribbean BEACHES, and The Capital City of San José, are only slightly over 90 minutes away, in either direction, East or West! Great for day trips or a “weekend getaways!?!
You can enjoy the many views, go river rafting or trout fishing nearby, and the friendly country folk in the La Suiza & area are quick to wave and greet you with “Pura Vida!”
