Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The rooms are large and very comfortable. I loved sitting on my terrace with coffee in the morning - even when it rained since it was covered. Highly recommended.
Very good hotel in a great location - only problem was when my wife was ill and no one was on reception at 8am -
staff very helpful and many top places nearby
Located at 8 min walk from the port where delicious restaurants and local night life are abundant.
Hotel is artfully decorated and room is not big but very comfortable. Personal Turkish bath (cold shower while in steamy sauna in the summer is amazing!!) and Lavazza Coffee pods are my favorite amenities, besides the spacious balcony with comfy lounge chairs and matching “ottomans”.
Room doesn’t seem to have AC however evenings here with sea breeze doesn’t really need AC. Room is airy with many windows and has a Dyson stationary fan, quite and powerful - enough to get through the day (as if anyone would waste any time indoors during the day lol).
In conclusion, unless you have respiratory conditions and needs stable cool air, don’t hesitate to book your stay here.
Ps. Eden Ouest doesn’t have an elevator, but the nice gentleman front desk will carry your suitcases up for ya.
P.ps: Breakfast has quality selections and hotel staff would cater to our checkout time. We didn’t need it but appreciated the gesture very much.
This is a nicely renovated 18-19th century house that has high ceilings and expansive rooms, 2 minute walk to the Market, which should be top of your list to visit!
Bang in the middle of town perfect for a couple of days exploring La Rochelle
The property does not look like the photos, and was a bit entry level. There was dog poop all over the garden. La Rochelle is a really exciting and quaint city, nice to explore. Parking is a nightmare, but if not driving, this is a good central place to stay
Very convenient,spacious,quite,luxurious style and accommodation.

More than a B&B
Great welcome by the owners son he pointed out the restaurant we had booked for the night for our anniversary Where to park nearby for free and alternative restaurant.
Great room including wooden Bath and sauna.
Excellent continental breakfast.
Near the market so close to the town centre.
Would stay again.
This lodging is a B&B and the family that runs it is simply super. Really enjoyed breakfast in the garden and talking with the family. La Rochelle is a beautiful seaport with lovely French architecture. Had visited La Rochelle back in 2012 and wanted to return to experience it again. The towers guarding the port, museums, and the aquarium offer lots to see and do. Easy access to outlying islands which are great day trips.
Large stylish room with French windows opening onto small garden.Luxurious bathroom with enormous wooden bath and separate shower/steam room.
It was a great central location near the market with several nearby bars and restaurants, and easy access to the station, bus station and old port.
We never actually made it inside Hotel! I booked 1 month in advance. Arrived at hotel to find it locked and no answer on intercom or phone. Tried calling again a few times later the afternoon with no reply. I was in and out of Business meetings and had to make alternative arrangements to find new hotel to put bags and equipment. French company from my meetings then received a call back that evening since they also tried calling for me. Hotel told them that they had NO bookings for the day and that was the reason they did not have staff at hotel that day. I'm still trying to get back my money from them and Hotels.com.
Great choice for our La Rochelle stay. Lovely hosts and a fantastic breakfast each morning. Easy to get around the city and also across to Il de Re. Car parking not on site but you can go a few streets over and its free (around a 3 to 4 minute walk). Would book again
Well situated to be able to walk everywhere around La Rochelle. B & B very stylishly and artistically put together using good quality and unusual products/items. The owners are delightful and serve a good breakfast and enjoy chatting with their guests at breakfast time. Our room was on the ground floor and had direct access into the small and pretty garden which has seating around for other guests use as well. Breakfast can be served in the garden in good weather. No parking belonging to the B & B but pay parking available around all the nearby streets and the owners arranged private secure garage parking for us for 15Euros a night which was a short walk away. A great place, real gem of a find, would definitely go back.
Of all our travels over the world, Eden Oest has been by far the place we have ever stayed. The owners are incredible people and the new renovated building is superb! The styling, the features in the room, everything! The location is great as it’s a short walk to the harbour. The local market is in the same street. Everything about La Rochelle and Eden Oest was flawless. The bathroom was better than any 5* superior hotels I have ever experienced. Hand crafted wood bath, sauna/shower with seating, even the fittings where beautiful.
Fabulous décor, gardens and the ochre room was lovely - access to the garden and the brilliant en-suite bathroom with huge cedar wood bath and best of all the Hammam. Great location and very friendly lovely hosts. Would recommend it highly.
