Incredible View
Able to drive right to the property thanks to google maps. Incredible home with magnificent view of the volcano. AC worked well in all rooms. Bugs were an issue at night times but we kept off the outside lights to eliminate that problem

Authentic fantastic experience near the beaten path
This very spacious farmhouse is actually part of an intergenerational family farm and restaurant where you can see many animals up close, get a fresh breakfast, and even take cooking classes. During our stay, we enjoyed back porch views of the Arenal volcano and rainforest wildlife, playing in the mini-pool that was perfect for kids, and learning about how to press sugar cane (and all the other flora) grown on the farm. Lola, the family dog was a treat as well. The drive into the town of La Fortuna is only about 5 minutes and our hosts had several ideas for us to explore that were enriching and inexpensive. Some of our favorites were a hike to see a waterfall, the El Salto rope swing, and free hot springs. We highly recommend this stay for families with children and folks who want an experience that is off the beaten path, but still kind of close to it.

This house is a typical, Costa Rican rustic farmhouse experience. As many locals do, living outside is a way of life & this house offers an outside experience with a generous, deep wrap around porch to enjoy Vulcan Arenal, an uninterrupted rainforest view down the valley, lovely landscaped grounds & birds galore. More comfortable deck furniture would be an improvement. Bedrooms are adequate. Kitchen is adequate but more shelves & cooking supplies would be an improvement. The cold tub on deck was delightful after a hot day of activity. The only warm water is in the showers via a shower head that warms water. There's a reason the bathrooms are not featured in the VRBO description. They are quite rough. Master bath was marginally acceptable. Large shower was moldy. Sink was a weird brown tree trunk created of cement. Hard to determine if sink was clean. 2nd bath sink was the same & shower was unacceptable with scummy doors off track & moldy. All plumbing drains emitted a sewer gas odor that took a few days to dissipate.. There's room for improvement to justify the daily rate.

It was a little bit of a disappointment. Hot tub was just a cold tub. Very poor lighting in the kitchen with less dishes and cutlery than needed and very dull knives. Beds were uncomfortable. The views were great. Enjoyed the rural setting. Host tried his best to accommodate our needs.

Fantastic hospitality!
We were two families travelling together (5 adults + 4 kids) and we had plenty of room to relax at night. The house is not luxurious but it did fit our needs for the few nights we were in La Fortuna. Jeimer was really a fantastic host! When we arrived on site, we had a private tour of the farm and the kids were really amazed by the variety of animals that they were able to see an touch! In the morning, they even had the chance to milk a cow! The view from the outdoor dining area was great for breakfast but there were a lot of bug and mosquitoes at night so we have decided to eat inside. This is a great place to rent in La Fortuna.

It was such a treat to spend time at this wonderful property. The family greets you and is so kind and helpful before and throughout the stay. The farm is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept. The house is very special and has a fabulous porch to enjoy the incredible scenery.
