Did you know there are 2 volcanoes in the town of La Fortuna??? Most tourist only hear of the Arenal Volcano, but there is a second one right next to it.

My home is a 2 bedroom with great views of the Costa Rica Rain-forest, right at the edge of the jungle, and the majestic Arenal Volcano and the second less known Cerro Chato Volcano.

I'm excited to make my home yours while you are vacationing in the area. You are renting the whole cabin while you're here... I nor anyone else will be staying at the property during your stay. However, I can be reached if you need anything, but for the most part you're on your own.

The cabin is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano. It's only 9 minutes (2 minutes on a bumpy dirt road) from the center of town in La Fortuna, but private and secluded, yet 5 minutes (1.9km) from one of the larges stocked grocery stores in the area, and 3 minutes from the La Fortuna Waterfall.

You want birds, we GOT them - hummingbirds, toucans, Montezuma Oropendolas, Honey Creepers and many, MANY, many more.

You want a Volcano view, you could pretty much reach out and touch it.

The Howler monkeys can frequently be heard passing just 100 yards away. If you're lucky you'll get to see them climb from tree to tree as they lounge around eating and enjoying the day.

I am constantly landscaping so there are a LOT of plants, trees and flowers for you to enjoy. You'll LOVE eating out on the porch as the beauty that IS Costa Rica moves around you. I feed the hummingbirds and they'll be enjoying their breakfast as you enjoy yours- fun to watch - SO TERRITORIAL. And at night when the sky is dark and there's nothing to see but black. You can see the hundreds of fireflies roaming around in the distance.
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony or patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a phone, as well as a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Jungle cabin
Nice house in a small neighborhood right in the middle of the jungle with easy access to la fortuna. Saw many birds, including toucans. We thought the neighbors had a sick donkey the first several days only to find out it was howler monkeys in the trees behind the property.

Exactly as advertised
The place is great and as advertised. It’s rustic, but comfortable and in a great location. It made it very easy to get everywhere. We really enjoyed sitting out on the wrap around deck, drinking our coffee in the morning or listening to the rain at night. It was very rainy when we were there, which made it even more important to have a 4x4 in general, but especially getting down the neighborhood road (again, as advertised). D’Angelo was excellent. In addition to just setting us up for a nice stay at his place, he gave us some really good recommendations of things to do that enhanced our trip.

Perfect Cabin
My wife and I stayed at this cabin during our trip to La Fortuna and had a blast. So much wildlife right outside and the view of the volcano is truly breathtaking. Very well located and we were able to easily access all of the things we planned to do and see in the area. We stayed in Tamarindo afterwards and all we wanted to do was go back to De’Angelo’s cabin! It is a TRUE Costa Rican experience. We loved our stay.

D'Angelo's assistance to meet us in town, ensure we found the cabin, show us all the features of the home, and give us great advice on Fortuna adventures meant a lot to us! His home is lovely, with so much character associated with a rain forest jungle. Great decorations and vibe. Loved the wrap around porch, open to the LR and Bedroom. Beds were comfortable for a great night's sleep, enjoying the sounds of nature. The cabin was very clean. Such a great experience! On D'Angelo's recommendation, enjoyed Maquique Adenture's Rafting and Canyoning experiences. Also did the waterfall, hiked Arenal, and enjoyed the "free" Hot Springs after dark. So much fun!

Excellent location if you are looking to be in the center of the adventure capital. Near to everything. Note that la Fortuna is pricier, touristy and full of hawkers, so unless you are planning to spend your time enjoying the parks nearby, you might be disappointed. The house is nice, if a little grubby; could use some new pillows and frying pans... It is located in a Tico family neighbourhood which is being developed with hotels and homestays. Some people are rightfully cranky about that and you might notice some unfriendlies. Also lots of dogs, crying children, and loud vehicles. Overall, as expected, and D'Angelo is very communicative and an awesome host.

What a beautiful place to stay!
Very beautiful. D'Angelo has paid so much attention to detail. The house and property are wonderful. Hummingbirds, toucans, howler monkeys and so many more! D'Angelo personally met us in town and we followed him to the property. He had a fresh basket of fruit for us upon our arrival. Answered any questions we had made sure to let us know he was available if we had any questions or needed anything. Short drive to downtown LaFortuna and 7 miles from La Fortuna Waterfall. His home is a small piece of paradise quietly tucked away. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Great property. Great nature views. Owner was very helpful. Met us in LaFortuna and led us to the house. The house is close to downtown, but very secluded. Suggest you work with the owner and his property manager before you book any excursions/tours. Recommend using Volcano Lake Adventures. Highly recommend this property.

Very dirty house in a beautiful location
After high sensation when entering the house, our stay turned into a nightmare. What a shame to leave abandoned such a potentially lovely house! Dust, lizard and insects corpse, spider webs, sticky cutlery, wet sofa, shower leaking to toilet, front door lock hardly working, abandoned trash in the garden and crawlspace are just some of the too many issues which make us escape from this hell instead of spending a second night at the same place. We can't understand how owners maintain their house in such a poor state, despite tremendous potential inside and outside. This house doesn't deserve to be offered for rental before being seriously repaired, maintained and dishes being refurbished. Photos are unfortunately misleading...
