I've been living around Kyoto for more than 38 years now and this is the place I always try to stay, or recommend friends to stay. It's wonderfully located, it's courteous, it has everything you need and it's reasonable. You can find much fancier and pricier places on every street in Kyoto these days, but this one is central, kind and easy. I hope to keep staying here forever.

We stayed for 5 nights after a trans pacific flight. Location was amazing - 15 minutes walking to 3 stops. The tea service in the afternoon was lovely. Wish we had done the Japanese breakfast option more. Beds we're comfortable and staff was friendly. Great bathroom amenities and black out blinds. Shower was fine. I would stay here again - easy transport everywhere.

Great location and good size room for a longer stay. Mattresses were a bit hard for us and could do with an upgrade. Ask for extra duvet to use as a mattress topper. Quiet considering you are in middle of city. Bathroom clean and tidy. Staff friendly. Great cafe underneath for breakfast set and pastries. Kyoto brewery for a craft beer just around corner the corner. Would recommend.
