Hotel Rakuyu is excellent from all aspects for our vacation in Mt. Fuji.
Location is great. The lake, mountains, boats and people display a living picture through the floor-to-ceiling window in any rooms. Within minutes of walk you can get to boat ride, sightseeing bus stops, bike rental, shops and Rope Way to an observation platform to get a nice view of Mt. Fuji.
Hot spring bath runs overnight in the hotel. Breakfast is like a full meal. Snacks served from 3-5 pm daily. Then foods and wines served from 5-7 pm.
Starting from booking the hotel, I received welcome message; until check out the hotel shuttle sending us to train station, we feel that the staff and services provided are genuine, detailed and heart warming. We highly recommend Rakuyu, and we would like to come again in future.
Beautiful property! We loved our room, it was so spacious with a beautiful view. It also had a wonderful hot tub. We are private people so we didn't try the onsen that they had. Good food provided for mealtimes. The hotel is up on a hill so bit of a trek, but they do have a shuttle to get you to the train station. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Lovely hotel with lovely views but isolated, a long steep walk to town which normally for a fit person isn’t bad but if you just finished climbing fuji, mind as well be another hike up the mountain. Facilities have no food onsite, even vending snacks so bring food or you’ll be hiking into town. And if you check-in after 7:30pm they treat it like you’re checking in at 2am. Also no elevators, but if you ask they will help with bags. They only provide one room key, so if you have someone of the opposite sex with you and you’re using the onsen, you have to coordinate. If you plan on doing laundry bring coins, they told me to buy something from the vending machine to get change. The hotel shuttle only runs till 11am or at least after 11 they told me to take a taxi to the station. No late check outs. I would recommend finding something right near the lake or by town, you still get great views but makes walking around Fuji much more enjoyable. Safe travels ya’ll
Fantastic view from the lobby, public bath, and your room. Very comfortable! I spent a good part of my time in a chair enjoying some saki and the view.
Fabulous location, really friendly and attentive staff, hot baths looking out over the lake with Black Kites flying past, Club Lounge a really nice touch.
A lovely property with an even lovier staff. Beautiful views of the lake. The hotel is perched on a hill, but it’s still an easy walk to restaurants and train station. And they provide shuttle service. Breakfast and happy hour was quite nice; lots of different food selections and all very yummy. Would recommend.
This wonderful hotel in the Mt Fugi/5 Lakes area of Japan has everything going for it. Exceeded our expectations by miles. Lodging included wonderful food, shuttle transportation to town and incredible views from our room. You never know what you will get when you book something halfway around the world. This was a wonderful experience of real Japan.
The hotel was amazing and the view was fantastic. We did not want to leave this place. Lake kawaguchiko was a beautiful area to explore. Staff was friendly as well and spoke English
