There was plenty of parking and it was in an area that felt safe, so that was good for traveling with family. The room was clean, great air condit, strong water pressure for the shower, and hot water for all of us to shower. The staff was friendly and made you feel welcome and appreciated. The breakfast was great. There was a lot of variety from fruit and yogurt, cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate, eggs and sausage. It was within 20 minutes to ETSU and was quiet and peaceful coming back to the hotel.

Wet paint smell

I was put on the second floor and once i got off the elavator it smelled like wet paint and my room smelled like wet paint . So i asked on the third day if they have been painting the hallway and i got told no by the customer service rep at the desk. Told her what was going on . Got moved to the first floor cause of the wet paint smell. The manger got wind of this and had a cow saying it was baby powder. If it was all the sprayers on the second floor were on full strength and that was over kill. The manger of that location also tried retalation agianst me and needs to be talked to about eeo and how to treat a guest . I will never stay their agian with that manger in charge . She went so far as to have the sent sprayer by my room on the first floor changed to baby powder and put on full force or what ever makes it spray more often. That manger is a poor excess for a human

Disappointing and Unhygienic Stay

August 2025 I would not recommend this hotel based on my family’s recent stay. When we first entered our room, we immediately noticed that the floors were damp, the bed sheets were damp, and there was only a half-used roll of toilet paper provided. The bathroom door was extremely difficult to close, and the paint on it was peeling in a very unappealing way. To make matters worse, there was a live spider crawling on the ceiling, which we had to kill ourselves. Inside my bed, I found a black hair in the sheets, and my children’s bed had a noticeable dog urine stain on the side. The smoke detector had nearly a quarter inch of dust on it, showing a complete lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. On top of that, none of the hand sanitizer stations worked from the lobby to the second floor, which was especially concerning given the importance of hygiene in public areas. Overall, the room felt dirty, poorly maintained, and unsafe. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences my family has had, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

The room they put us in smelled so bad of musty damp wetness. The curtains above the air conditioning had black mold all over them.They did put us in a different room and the same thing smelt so .weCan't even breathe from all of the smells no sleep this place needs to do something about the moldy smell my sister has asthma and she could not breathe. It was just most horrible experience we have ever endured.

The staff was great, the actual hotel and building is a little dated and it was probably a really nice hotel a few decades ago, is not that is not maintained but I guess is the construction material laying in the back parking lot and at the stairs that give the impression of being under remodeling.
