The staff was very friendly, but I can’t look past the clear cleanliness issues this hotel had. There were still other people’s hair in the shower and chips of drywall were peeling off in the shower. I chose this hotel because it had an 8.8 rating and I feel I’ve been led astray by this because it didn’t live up to that rating.

They don’t take cats! Despite their listing saying they are pet friendly, they don’t take cats. So after an 8 hour travel day my reservation was not honored, leaving me frustrated and having to find other accommodations. Fortunately, they did issue a refund, so there’s that.

Hotel was clean with easy saw access off of the 40. A dated facility with old round commodes and soft beds. On the upside, they had a great breakfast with biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon. Facility was clean and quiet. Rooms were dated and the bathrooms definitely needed a new upgrade with new toilets and showers.

Cons: The property is in a sketchy area, and I was concerned about parking my car. The person at the front desk assured me that they have staff monitoring the property 24/7. My room was on the 1st floor, and I could hear every step made on the 2nd floor, plus the floorboards were creaking. My room also smelled. I think it was a smoking room at one point, which is something that requires a deep cleaning of the carpet and curtains. Lastly for the cons was the light switch for the bathroom was not located in the bathroom. It was in the hall near the entry door. PROS: Despite the smell, my room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was cozy. The morning breakfast was a good mixture of hot and cold foods (eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles), and yummy biscuits and gravy. Check-out was a breeze, and my car was still there when it was time to leave.

The hotel was clean, the staff were totally awesome, and everything was as advertised or better. By the way, the free breakfast was better than breakfasts I have paid for. Definitely a five star recommendation for the money.
