We found out on our way up that there were no rugs in the basement (2 rooms of the house) and that they would be installed the next day. We were okay with this, but then as soon as we turned the heat on in the house, the plumbing connecting to where a washing machine had been started pouring out water... literally gallons of water leaking (imagine several 4 ft tall garbage cans full of water). We had to rush to get the water out of the house/find the valves to turn off/find other containers to catch the water -- it was a very stressful way to arrive to the house. Had we left the house, the entire basement would have flooded. We were eventually able to stop the water for the night (by clamping the tubing), but then had to then speak with a plumber the next day to come by and fix the leak. We learned the owner had removed the washing machine the day before, and was aware of a partial leak from the pipe, but did not warn us. The basement then smelled musty (basically making 2 of the rooms unusable) and the people who were supposed to sleep there ended up sleeping on the couch upstairs. On top of that some of the blankets and pillows were dirty and the wifi for the house barely worked. This basically ruined our first night/sleeping arrangements for the rest of the trip, and we tried to get a refund for the first night, but the owner did not seem to take our request or the weight of the issue seriously. I have to give it one star because the owner was unprofessional.
In summary, it's a fine place to stay/close to the mountain, but just be aware the house has 3 real bedrooms, because the other 2 are basement bedrooms. You will probably have to make your own bed when you arrive, and may be in for some surprise condo maintenance. If you are fine with all of the above, you'll have a great time.
