First impression approaching the property caused some concern - behind a big Safeway and next to a Youth Gospel Mission " Lots of young skateboarders on street gives old people a little concern for car prowling. Actually I had no problems of that sort.
Check-in went smoothly despite my arrival around 9pm. I was on a fishing trip and going out at 5 am, so asked if breakfast was available early. The morning staff starts setting up breakfast around 4:30 so full service was not ready so early; however the lady allowed me to heat up a pre-made egg & cheese omelet and toast, and take yogurt which was good enough. Nearby 24/7 restaurants like Dennys are a good alternative. The room was at the end ofvthe 2nd floor hall away from the highway. It was mneat and tidy and everything worked. The single King bed was quite comfortable. I liked the breakfast bar island arrangement in the room. The only flaws I noticed included a peeling strip of trim at the end of the counter, and a broken bolt on the toilet seat, which are simple maintenance fixes. I left a housekeeping note pointing those out as well as mentioning them to the desk clerk.
Overall the Guest House is a good place to stay, moderately priced, with nearby shopping and dining.
