Excellent hotel- the staff was amazing, kind and helpful. The only issue was that our WiFi didn’t work in room 106. The other part of our group had no issues in room 305.
I cannot stress enough how wonderful the staff was. So friendly and courteous

We had some trouble with the language barrier. Also, with all the road construction, we couldn't drive to the hotel.
Overall, this hotel is fine. The staff was kind and helpful but the bed was incredibly hard. I awoke uncharacteristically early due to the inability to sleep another minute on the bed. For those who like a firm bed, this place could be for you.
We stayed for the second time in March 2016 at Alfa Hotel. We keep choosing the hotel for it's convenient location in Downtown Karlsruhe. You can walk almost everywhere in the immediate center in less than ten minutes and most of the tram lines pass nearby. The hotel is very clean, the rooms have sufficient space, breakfast has a satisfying standard, the staff is very helpful and some speak some English. If you want to criticize something it would be the small bathrooms and eventually the hard beds as well as the tight parking spaces in the garage. The rooms to the street can be quite noisy during the night on weekends. We still will return for sure for our next stay in Karlsruhe.
Perfectly normal good quality hotel. Good value for money, in the heart of the city. The only issue is late night noise - it is situated next to a lively area of late night bars which are busy until 3am.
We stayed at Alfa Hotel in early March 2015. We choose the hotel because of it's central location very close to restaurants and attractions. It's located in an Pedestrian only area but the garage is accessible by car (limited parking, kind of tight). The rooms are clean and comfortable, even we found the beds to be kind of hard. The area around the hotel gets kind of noisy on the weekends so try to choose a room to the back. Breakfast was good. Staff was kind and helpful with knowledge of the English language. If you want to stay in central Karlsruhe for a reasonable price this is the place to choose.
Great location. All the city center restaurants and pubs are right in this area. The rooms are larger than normal for German hotels. But the restaurants and pubs make for very noisy nights. Even with windows closed it keeps you up. Good thing is that every room had a small stand up fan. Put it right by your headboard and you can drown out the noise.
The location is complicated. The hotel is in a foot zone, and we were hesitant to drive into the area. The hotel should advise the guest that they are authorized, and provide garage location and entry / exit instructions. There was a deaf guy at the desk one night and we had to park and go in and ask for entry. He was very rude, and seemed annoyed that we bothered him. Our room window faced a bar - about 20 feet away. It was VERY noisy till midnight. I was also under the impression that breakfast was included - it wasn't - cost $25 a day per person based on billing and exchange rate. I also was very sick one night and asked about medical care, the deaf guy was nasty and said Karlsruhe doesn't have medical care at night or on weekends. I speak fluent German and lived there 5 years (not Karlsruhe) and know that is nonsense. We spent $75 in taxis trying to find the right hospital. The staff was the downfall, the location challenging and should have more info on the website. Not recommended if you are looking for relaxation.
Weird odor coming from the bathroom; likely the toilet is not vented ala Italy in general. Otherwise a clean hotel with a great included breakfast buffet. Wonderful location, large room, would stay again.
A comfort hotel with a good position to have dinners at numerous restaurants alongside streets. I liked the hotel's nice breakfast and nice stuffs. However, since I have stayed in the end of July, it was too hot especially during nights because of the lack of air conditioners. Also, no coffee machine was equipped in the room.
Nice hotel with secure parking, close to all the city sites, the earplugs in the room give you a idea that it might be noisy, as it was, but it is in the centre of the bar district. Room was closy and staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay here again
The Alfa Hotel had realllllly small rooms, but we weren't in it much! The location is superb for walking to fun spots with tons of great places to eat very nearby. I'd stay again!
We had a little trouble driving to the hotel as the streets around it are narrow and we weren't sure if they were one way streets or for walking only, however, once we arrived we found we could park our car in an underground parking area. The hotel is conveniently located and we could walk to all the major attractions in Karlsruhe.
The staff were very friendly and always helpful. We had a three person room so it was nice and spacious. Across the street from the hotel was a nice sized Bio Store. This was great for us vegetarians as we were able to buy delicious healthy food.
All throughout the day, it was quiet and we felt very comfortable. We would have been very happy at this hotel except for one thing. About the time we were ready for bed the neighborhood seemed to wake up! Then there were people laughing and talking loudly, music playing; and this went on all night long in the pubs close by. The hotel staff did supply foam ear plugs so guests could deaden the noise somewhat.
