It is the perfect setting to reminisce about the adventure so far. One private bedroom hosts a cozy, queen size bed. The other is a bunk bed w twin bed on the bottom, with another bunk bed.

Soak in the elements on the screened in porch. The screened porch is the cat-bird seat of the cabin, featuring a comfortable couch, rocking chair and lounging chair, cozy new cushions, and the view from the porch is incredible looking out across Portage Lake.
Enjoy a morning coffee on the front porch and watch the ducks and geese. Watch the birds at the custom birdhouse from the patio overlooking the water while you cook your steak and burgers on the gas barbeque. The side yards are good sized for the kids and dogs to play, but there are neighbor dogs so you have to keep an eye on your dog. The fire pit off the side yard has 6 chairs and sits on a bluff surrounded by pines and oaks overlooking the water. You will need to pick up firewood at a stand down the street but sometimes we do stock it if requested for a longer stay.
If you don’t feel like cooking, take a short cruise to Fisher Lake Tavern for dining out on the Lake, or head to Cowboy Up for line dancing and smoked meats.

Beautiful place, needs better maintenance
The cabin was cute and in a great location. Right away, though, we noticed ants everywhere inside (some dead, some alive). The carbon monoxide detector in the basement beeped nonstop due to low battery which made it hard to sleep. The shower head throws water up to the ceiling and then down onto the floor, so the bathroom floor gets drenched. Pink canoe had a hole in it, so my husband and kids had a very short excursion in it. The screened porch would be so much more enjoyable if the many holes in the screens were patched or replaced so that critters could not get in. Owner was very receptive to having the water pump looked at when we notified him that every time we used the water (flushing of toilet, washing of hands, showering, etc) the pump was cycling on and off which was quite noisy but also could have burnt out the pump leaving us with no water.

Snug Harbor
It was as expected for a CABIN. Updated bath was a plus. Usable kitchen although water pressure in the kitchen sink was minimal. Interior was clean and nicely furnished, steep irregular concrete walkways w/no handrails (no lights either) could prove problematic for Seniors w/mobility issues a/cawas nice (3rd week of July)

Happy Campers!
Small, rustic-style cabin, nothing fancy, but just what we wanted. Great screened-in patio and a quick walk to a small dock. The lake was quiet and clean. Great place for a quiet weekend in the woods, near water, and cabin-style living.

Disappointed and left on our fourth day
We understood it to be a rustic cabin with amenities we looked forward to on the lake. The lighting was electrically crude and inadequate. To read we had to use the daylight on the screened porch, which sadly had very uncomfortable seating. Thirdly, the short dead end road offer no walking paths access to the lake. And finally the dock was crude and any older person trying to manage getting into a kayak was impossible. We did not use. Very disappointing and we are very used to camping and outdoor activities and this did not suffice, sorry to report.

Enjoyed our stay but a few things could have made it excellent
Our check in was good and the cabin was clean and cute. We did notice that the cabin is not on the water what is on the water is a lot across the street that is lake access but it isn’t very far. The WiFi is excellent had no problems connecting. We were disappointed with the screened in porch furniture it was very uncomfortable and the cushions were flattened and gross. If you sat on the couch you could barely see out to the water. The canoe has a bad leak started filling with water so that wasn’t usable. Access into the water from the land could be better hard to get into a kayak or canoe from that tall dock. I think if the owners put a little money into some things to improve the property would be excellent. We made the best of it.

Quiet Location for a Getaway Near a Lake.
The Good: Nice quiet and comfy log cabin. Great location for a getaway. Easy check-in, nice bonfire pit, wifi, and quiet neighbors. Portage Lake is big and great for kayaking. (Wish I had a pontoon). The Bad: Access to the dock/water across the street was troublesome with no steps. The water pressure was low at times. Would still recommend this property.

Need to make sure the code for the door is correct, update your info for your wifi and where to find light switch also a curtain in the living room would be helpful if you like to sleep past 7:00. It was a nice stay, but feel it was over priced for a very basic cabin.

Escape Chicago for the 4th of July
We're always looking for a place to go for the 4th. It's hard to completely escape fireworks and noise, but Chicago is over the top and our dogs can't handle it. This was our first time at the Three Rivers cabin home and it was a very nice stay. Clean, well stocked and nice location. The shower rocked and that was enough for me! It wasn't silent, but it was pretty calm compared to the city. Thanks!

Just the right amount of rustic and modern.
After having issues with other properties this one was amazing. Easy, quick, hassle free. It was clean and organized. Everything made sense as to where it was. Very rustic feel but, with all the modern conveniences you could want. A great place to relax or have fun.

Had a great stay!
We really enjoyed the cabin and particularly the screened-in porch. Visiting in-laws we really just slept, got ready, and had a morning coffee, and didn't have any time to kayak or hang around the area during the day. The heater worked well the first night which was quite cold. The one drawback was the lack of ceilings in the bedrooms which did not leave a lot of privacy in terms of sound, the kitchen noises carry up and reflect right around the smooth, hard surface of the knotty pine ceiling and down into the bedroom with the bunk beds (and vice versa). Adding insulated ceilings would greatly improve the privacy, but I didn't want to take away a star for that, as it sort of fit with the rustic setting which was clear in the listing.

Great stay!
Our group had a great time. The lighting was a bit tricky as some of the bulbs were out and still didn’t work when replaced so it was a bit dark inside. Otherwise the inside away nice. The weather didn’t allow us to fish or swim so we didn’t get to check those things out but we had fun and the price was reasonable.

Peaceful Holiday Getaway
Pros: Lovely view of lake, peace and quiet, great shower, fluffy towels, well stocked kitchen, bottled water in the refrigerator, helpful instructions, additional throws, fast internet, some thoughtful extras like cooking oil, salt and pepper. Cons: Musty smell, dusty ceiling fans, garbage full in the washer/dryer area, half eaten bag of chips left on the counter, disproportionate cleaning fee, curtain/blinds in the bathroom/living would be welcome, too many awkward lamps to negotiate, none of the outside lights worked so my husband changed the bulb by the front door, (appreciated the spares.) I'm not a fan of the open cabin concept and had just assumed the bedrooms had ceilings but they didn't, so both light and noise carried.

Quaint cabin in the woods, a great get away spot!
Great cabin in the woods just off the water with all the important city-enjoyed amenities but without the stress of the city. Well maintained, clean and nice kitchen with good supply of accessories for meal prep. Shaun was very responsive to all questions we had and with Corinna they were great hosts. Lots of family fun activities off the water within 15-45 minutes, and many quality restaurants to chose from. Had a great time!

Overall good experience. We have family in the area and this was a good location for us.
Cozy cabin with great front porch. It is very close to Portage lake, but doesn't have lake access. However public boat ramp is very close. Also the cabin could use some more lights. A flashlight would be helpful, as one bedroom has no lighting, and light in laundry room didn't work for us. But we did enjoy our stay. Very peaceful and scenic.

Very nice and clean comfortable cabin.
We loved the cabin and its location to close by towns. AC was awesome considering the heatwave and there was plenty of room for 5 of us plus our lab. The boat launch is very close as well (no direct access on property). Ideal for a boat or using the kayaks or canoe. Snug Harbor is a nice calm area connected to the big lake - great for paddling around away from boats. Probably the best cabin we have stayed in to date when it comes to cleanliness and functionality. Owners were very helpful and answered every question promptly. Very nice folks. (2) Beaches are not too far away, within 15-20 minutes - Sunset Lake Park and Prairie View County Park.

Relaxing Lakeside Get-Away
Our stay was only three nights but we really enjoyed the cabin. I was visiting my family in Vicksburg from Florida and wanted something other than the typical hotel room. The view of the lake from the screen portch is nice. Lots of birds, rabbits and chipmunks running around. My Californian Wife had never seen fireflies before and her reaction reminded me of how we’d chase and catch them as kids. Shaun was a very accomidating host and communication was good. Overall, an enjoyable, if short, stay.
